Getting to New Yok

This is probably the most original store that houses a unique collection of designers from all walks of life. It's visual merchandising was that on par with a contemporary museum, and created an interactive space for consumers to interact with clothing.

Getting to see what actually goes on behind the scenes of a PR firm was like taking a step into a less viscous version of Devil Wears Prada. Their presentation was among the best of my visits in NY. And I learned so much about that section of my industry.

Premiere Vision, although it was only a taste of what its Paris edition has to offer. This trade show had a wide range of textile manufacturers, printers and a cutting edge trend forecasting center.

Now Trending.... Next years hot new fabrics hit the floor at KPNY, but what makes this trade show different? Korean Preview New York sponsors a variety of the leading luxury fabric producers based in Korea. Not only raising awareness for the companies but the nations industry as a whole.

A sneak peak into the future. This week men's market commenced and with it the collections for spring/summer 2017. Behind these walls buyers scurry to place orders on next years hot trends. While the real make it or break it battle commences for competing design firms.

Experienced what is Isaac Mizrahi. After learning about him in class then getting to enjoy samples of his life's work, I have a new founded appreciation for his creativity and his iconic use of color.

Discovered the inspirational Cooper Hewitt Museum this week. Their collection of historical and contemporary design was amazing. So many great installations from fashion to architecture to animation.

The future of fashion is here. Companies like Doneger are what makes today's fashion industry run so smoothly. They listen to consumers and study trends and offer their counseling to any design firm that's willing to listen. They are truly the reason you're wearing that shade of blue this season.

And don't forget, scatter my ashes on the seventh floor.

#madeinanerica Toured a local New York factory today, it's interesting how they resemble what you'd expect to see in China. The only difference is these women get payed $25 an hour instead of a dollar a day.

One of the most interesting concepts for a retail space I've ever seen. I love how they create such an interactive space that not only sells product but also entertains the shopper.
