What kills birds now guides my way through the cities, stars replaced by the high rises of where my dreams lay penthouses high above. I couldnt imagine where else they could be, heaven was long gone and now their lives looked down on me. I felt a resentment to the mist covering the highest points in the city, sometimes it felt like it was only their pity that really guided me through the city as other times I felt lost. Making the wrong decisions bad turns and wasted time, I was lost in a grid system but there were moments where it didnt matter anymore it was just self preservation in a city where we were all slowly sinking into the grime and oil deep beneath the city. More and more the pressure pilled on with a comfort that will surely kill with time and it was this comfort and acceptance that this city created that could strike fear into the heart of anyone that wanted to look beyond the city skyline. I resented this morning mist, but its a grid system motherfucker.
