Like last time, Lando saw Oscar he was this round faced, shy, sweet guy suffering the horrors of being in alpine. Suddenly, Oscar is in his everyday: tall, smart, dry humor his baby fat gone full on his early twenties

And Lando has the whiplash of "why I get schoolboy behavior when he touches me lightly in media duties?"

after mia piastri and piper norris are sent into the isolation cabin, and the girls get over whatever animosity they previously harboured for each other, they start talking.

they start talking about their parents.

piper asks if the man in mia’s prints are her dad, and in return, shows mia a polaroid of her and her father.

mia tells piper that she doesn’t have a mom, that it’s just her, her dad, and her aunts, but they’re more than everything to her. at that, piper smiles and tells mia that it’s just her and her father too.

then she lowers her voice to a conspiratorial whisper, even though it’s just the two of them in the cabin, and tells mia she thinks her father had someone, once.

piper says that there’s an old photograph she has of her dad. it’s old and yellowed, but in it, lando’s looking at someone, eyes alight and clearly enamoured with the other person on the other half of the photo. except piper doesn’t know who, because the photograph is ripped, jagged and ugly, right down the middle.

and mia stares frozen at her, because we all know where this is going. she doesn’t say anything, merely runs to her trunk and pulls out something she holds close to her chest.

“piper,” she whispers. “look.”

in the other half of the photograph, oscar’s head is tipped back, caught mid-laughter. in over a decade, as the two halves come to meet, their hands intertwine once again.
