Light My Fire by The Doors
Continuing with the 60s songs, we have this classic by the Doors, notable for it's extended solo. I'll just let the song speak for itself.

Brown-Eyed Girl by Van Morrison
Whimsical, sweet and carefree. Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison charmed with this little hit about a (who else?) brown-eyed girl who he used to be in love with. It's a break-up song, but you'd never tell by just listening to it.Â
Layla by Eric Clapton / Derek and the Dominos
Clapton wrote this song as a confession to his George Harrison's wife, Patti Boyd. He later married her, but they divorced in 1989. Hailed as one of the greatest rock songs, the ballad is characterized by its beautiful guitar solo and aching, desperate lyrics lyrics.Â
Stuck In The Middle With You by Stealers Wheel
Originally released in 1972 in Stealers Wheel's self-titled album, his song was made iconic for its use in Quentin Tarantino's debut film, Reservoir Dogs. As Mr. Blonde prepares to torture a young cop, he tunes in to K-Billy's Super Sounds of the 70s. Dubbed as a "Dylanesque, pop, bubble-gum favorite", it provided the macabre accompaniment to the gruesome ear-cutting scene, staking its place in cinema history.
Chaud Boulet by Hoquets From the album: Belgotronics
I stumbled upon this song in the Indie / Rock Playlist of August 2011, and I couldn't help but be amused by it. It's non-conventional to say the least, and it might take a couple of listens for it to grow on you. It's a quirky song indeed. It reminds me of Rent, in Tango: Maureen, where Mark says that he learnt how to tango "with Nanette Himmelfarb, the Rabbi's daughter, at the Scarsdale Jewish Community Center."
They did a pretty cool acoustic street jam of this song, which you can view here. Their album is available on iTunes as well.

Bruises by Chairlift
A slightly older indie track, but still a gem nonetheless (: It was used the song for an iPod Nano commercial in 2008, and quickly gained traction amongst the indie music scene. It's a whimsical tune, but still melds nicely with the electronic sound and beat, as well as the bass line. Interesting mix of elements that creates a unique little song (:
We Are Young by fun.
So Fun is an indie band that's been around for a couple of years. This is the lead single off their second album Some Nights, which follows their well-received debut album Aim and Ignite. I really like the explosive sound of this song, and the vocals of Nate Ruess is stellar. The lyrical composition is excellent as well.
We Are Young (Glee Cast Version). Originally by fun. From the album: Some Nights
It's a really catchy, soulful song, and I love the distribution of lines on this between all the members of New Directions. Props to them for finding this great new song, it's only been out a couple of months or so. I'll be posting the original up too (: Enjoy!
Hola!
Sorry for the absence, my finals are just over so I'll have more time for updates from here on out! Thanks so much to all who reblogged, and even more so to those who followed (: All the feedback's great and I'll try to post more great music that you'll enjoy.
I see that the original Meat Loaf version of What Happened to Saturday Night is more popular than the Glee cover. (; No worries, I think both are great! And I love the response to the Beach Boys' songs.
I'll be updating really soon, so check back for more music!
