The whole ensemble looked so domesticated that Dan had to quickly grab the antiseptic cream before Rorschach noticed his smile. <...> He served the stew. Rorschach ate hungrily and Dan felt justified in all his earlier assessments of the man’s eating habits. Sitting down opposite he joked, “I’m not going to take it off you ‘til you’re done you know.” As he ate his own share he watched, smiling at Rorschach’s enthusiasm. It didn’t manifest in a particularly appealing way, but Dan was too happy that Rorschach was alive and in his house to care that he was making a mess.

re-read my favourite watchmen fic recently! in which Dan became a doctor after giving up his masked life, and an encounter in the ER gave them a small chance of reconciliation

#watchmen #.png #i feel like in this fic rorschach is written with great care about keeping his character close to canon which is a heroic feat #also i loved all of the ER stories and the side characters and the fact that the fic borders on Gen #respectfully there is a noticeable amount of typos which is something that usually sours my experience as a reader but not this time #the story is like. so nice. and refreshing. and it's a complete narrative. so #to any fans of watchmen danror or not i can recommend reading it #it's a shame the author orphaned their account i would've loved to read what else they've written #dear author if you're out there hello and thank you and have a good day #dan dreiberg #walter kovacs #danror #<- ish
