You stood next to your brother, Dean, while your father interrogated the werewolf that was on it’s knees in front of him. The werewolf knew the location of two other werewolves in the area and John wanted to know where so that you guys could eliminate them and move on to the next case; however the man had no intention of spilling that information. It had been twenty minutes of your dad asking him questions, only to receive smart ass answers.

Dean and you stood by, waiting for orders from your father, as always. Hunting was still new to you, before you were always on research duty; your father never wanted you on an actual hunt, however with Sam leaving for Stanford, him and Dean were down a person, resulting in you going out into the field.

At first you were nervous, however Dean ensured you that he wouldn’t let anything bad happen to you and John told you that he trusted you were prepared for it, he wouldn’t let you if he didn’t believe it.

The biggest fear you had was when the time came to take something’s life; it was a discussion you had with Sam many times before, when the time came you weren’t sure you’d be able to kill something. Sam understood what you meant immediately, he knew you were a gentle soul who appreciated life, you were someone who wanted to save it, not end it.

In previous hunts your father or Dean was always the one who provided the fatal blow to the monster. Sure you had shot monsters, but only to injure them so that your dad or Dean could finish it. They didn’t mind taking the life.

Hell they enjoyed it.

You thought you were being clever about it, tricking your dad into thinking that you were capable of everything hunting required. Dean knew your secret, you had told him in confidence not long after Sam had let. To be honest it wasn’t much of a shock to Dean, you were the gentle one, the healer, so Dean didn’t mind when he had to step in and finish the monster. Sure it was more blood on his hands, but it meant that yours stayed clean.
