Tinker’s Pride

Name: Sorna Toolsmith - she/her Age: Late 20s-early 30s Tribe: Oseram Occupation: Tinker Personality: Loud and boisterous like typical Oseram, a bit scatter-brained. She likes a good ale and is rather picky with her drinks. She takes pride in her “lucky wrench” which she had made herself, because she manages to get out of scrapes and often ends up in the right place at the right time.  

Physical Description: A stocky, average-height woman, about 5’4-5’6. She wears very loose, blue trousers with dark brown boots, a light-reddish vest around a grey, worn tunic. She also wears a studded length of leather weaved with metal plating for protection against attacks, and thick worker gloves. She carries a woven pouch given to her by the Tenakth, as well as a utility belt for all her favorite tools. She wears a headcap with eyeshields that buckles under her chin. Both her arms are tattooed. 

Weapons: Proficient with blunt weapons, carries a handcrafted mace that when twisting a portion of the handle, can become sharp and pointed. Prefers melee combat.

History: She was born to a family of tinkerers who are known for their quality tools and metal alloys, but also for their eccentricities. Her mother died at childbirth so she was raised by her father. But over time, Gorduf Toolsmith (the father) becomes obsessed with solving the mystery of flight, among many other competing Oseram and Sorna over time ends up taking over their workshop while he goes off trying to invent new ways to fly. Unfortunately, he dies during one of his trials, leaving Sorna an orphan and her family labeled as one of the many victims of the so-called “flight curse”. It becomes the subject of ridicule in their village. 

Her relatives and ealdormen pressure her to marry immediately and not to follow in her father’s footsteps, but to their chagrin, Sorna chooses to leave their village instead, with the goal of redeeming her father and family name, and to one day lift the curse over human flight.

She journeys to the Forbidden West to seek out new machines, new resources, and the truth surrounding the rumors of a tribe who, though violent and bloodthirsty, are said to leap into the air to battle their foes, shouting phrases such as “Fly on the Wings of the Ten.”

Name: Lanikka Age: Mid-20s Tribe: Lowland Tenakth Occupation: Medic Personality: A fearsome warrior in her own right, Lanikka is highly protective and has little patience for ne'er-do-wells who try to hurt her loved ones and her home. She is highly inquisitive, bright and sharp in her intellect and memory, but to the settlement leader, her physical abilities leave much to be desired. As a result, she is made squad medic, and though she is grateful and fit for the position, deep down she wants to prove herself to the people who raised her as a great warrior and often does things on her own, much to the consternation of the settlement leader.

Physical Description: Lithe and agile, 5’3 in height. She wears typical Lowland Tenakth gear and armor but as a medic, she also sports a woven band around her right arm as an identification mark of her role. 

Weapons: Prefers using long-range weapons and fighting from afar. Melee weapon of choice is her favorite spear, which sports two tufts of long feathers to distract the opponent.

History: Lanikka is part of Gull Squad, serving as their medic, but is poised to take over as the settlement’s primary medic. She had contributed much of her abilities to caring for those affected by the Blood Choke and is relieved when she finds out the Champion has thwarted it.
