And, my opinion:

Rhaenyra and Daemon were an oddly healthy couple (as healthy as anything can be in ASoIaF) they had eight kids and they loved them, even the ones who weren't Daemon's blood or Rhaenyra's blood.

Was Rhaenyra a good person? I would say, as much as one could be in ASoIaF, yes. But she was a Queen and she had hard choices to make.

Daemon on the other hand was grey. Bad for some, good for others.

How different from the show?

Rhaenyra is decisive, she knows the throne is hers, she's charming and capable, but it's tragic because they keep putting obstacles in her way and she ends up dying thinking all her children did too.

Why would she have any reason to doubt that her children wouldn’t come out the same no matter who she fucked?

Why would she think that Harwin Strong’s genes were going to be important if Alicent’s Hightower genes weren’t?

Should she have stopped after the first one came out with brown hair? Yes, of course. But my girl is committed to consistency and also that dick.

What I mean to say is Rhaenyra had a hypothesis on genetics and she followed the scientific formula and tested that hypothesis three times.

mickey was dirty because he was a neglected and abused child. he used the dirt to sement his public facing image as it helped establish him as the dangerous thug he was (the dirt also kept girls away from his body but that’s a conversation for another day)

ian recognised this because he kinda sorta did the same with rotc (also he found mickey and his dirty bag persona super fucking hot)

but ian definitely was able to see the softy behind the layer of dirt mask and was instrumental in melting the icy layer and let mickey breathe
