K so, not really an ask, kind of want to put this here but also talk about how "bad art" blogs are kind of harmful? Sorry if this is super long. But like, I've been working on a comic idea for a very long time, and I see these people making fun of artists who are only trying their bests. It's the reason why I'm kind of nervous about putting my comic out there, because I don't want to be mocked for little mistakes in my art.
thats exactly what we’re here for! negativity sucks, and i know first-hand that being told that your art is “bad” is horrible. but dont be afraid to put yourself out there!! it can be scary, sure, but for every negative person theres going to be someone else who loves your art and will support you. i guarantee your comic is worth showing the world, so go for it! we’ll be here supporting you
Here’s a digital painting I did of a city skyline for my story setting, I completed it a couple hours ago and I’m so proud of how it came out
♥︎
My blog for this story thing is @downpour-by-bleat , so if you’re interested in this thing, don’t be afraid to swing by
Thank you for the opportunity!!
this is lovely!!! i know how difficult landscapes and backgrounds can be, and this came out beautifully!!! i’ll definitely check out your story, too

i’m opening commisions!! (yaay) only £5 for a headshot, it can be pretty much anything you ask me, i’m willing to negotiate!
let me know if you want any effects (chromatic aberration, etc) or if you want it to be in icon form. backgrounds are +50p if you want it drawn, others are free please spread the word!! <3 dm me to buy!
hey! @peachepoch again. would you mind reblogging my commissions post? it's the first thing on my blog and i really need the money lmao
sure thing!!

This is my first full body digital drawing of an OC of mine, and I was hoping for some critiques! Maybe on shading or poses? Advice is always appreciated! My OC/art blog is @itchydoodles! Thank you!!
ooo, i really like this!! i love the colors, especially the yellow coat and how it contrasts the darker colors. This character is also super cute, and the way you draw bodies/anatomy is really good! the shading is good to, though it can seem a little pillow-shaded in some parts, where the shading clings to the edges. This can work if the light source is straight in front of the character, but it’s a slight bit inconsistent. also, the shading on the hair/tail looks like it was done with an airbrush/looks blurrier than the cell-shading of the rest of the drawing, which is a bit of a weird contrast. i also like the pose, but it does look a little stiff. i suggest using a line of action when doing poses, even just simple poses like this one. it helps the pose seem more alive! here’s a cool reference i found of lines of action: https://line-of-action.com/article/gesture-basics-1-line-of-action/
Do you have any tips to draw someone that fell down the stairs? I can't start my webcomic without it
oof, that is a tricky pose. i always think that the best way to get poses like that is with stock photos. when i searched “someone who has fallen down stock photo”, i got these:
im sure that similar searches will come up with similar results! good luck on your comic!!
I was wondering if you could critique my Instagram? The account is awkwardlyarts
ooo, i really love your art style!!! its really pretty and nice to look at, and i also love the way you draw bodies. the way you shade stood out to me too, it looks amazing! on some of the drawings (not all though), the eyes are just a smidge too far apart. also, i suggest you incorporate some more lively and exaggerated expressions into your characters. they all have very similar facial expressions and i think your art would look really good with something new.

so i know this might look a little weird….. its from a musical called the Grinning Man, so the guy in the top left has a bandage over his face cut into a grin. the girl below him is blind. any critiques? my blog is @cthlulu
i like these a lot!! these characters have a lot of personality, and your art style is super cute!! on the top left drawing, it wasn’t immediately clear that it is a bandage. adding folds in the fabric and bumps and creases on the edge of the face and where the corners where the bandage meets the skin could help make it more clear. on that one, the right eye having a half-closed look makes it kind of look like there are 2 eyebrows over that eye, maybe lowering the eyebrow on that side so it almost touches the top of the eye could help it come more together. on the bottom left, eyes are right smack dab in the middle of the face, so lowering down that eye will help it look more accurate. eyes usually line right up with the bridge of the nose, too. on the right, her high, straight-edge shoulders make her look really tense. if this is what you were going for, it looks great, but if not, putting the shoulders at a diagonal angle will help release that tension.
sorry the fuck word is Right There in this drawing but uh could i get a critique?? thank u!!
oo i love this! i love the expression, it has a lot of emotion, and the colors really pop. the hat is pretty high up on the hair, which makes it kind of look like its floating. the base of the pointy part of the had should be right at the top of the head so it looks more secure. the hand holding the brownish thing (i cant tell what that is im sorry) looks really good, but not really like its holding anything securely. this is a bit of a pitpick and not actually that big of an issue though. maybe also lowering that thing so it fits in the grip a little better could help maybe?

I made another game. Your critique was really useful last time so I wanted to share my progress. This one is hopefully stronger and better put together. (Though I still suffer from style inconsistencies. I think I am getting more stable though.) https://pc0hidq.itch.io/hazel-r1-head-head
this was such a cool game!! i loved the colors, and the art style was just the right amount of creepy. i also thought the story was pretty interesting and i got super invested in getting all the endings. i had a lot of trouble distinguishing the proportions, and i couldn’t really tell whether hazel was supposed to be really small or not. if so, feel free to ignore this, but if not, usually for perspective, people wont look as small as you think they will. how i learned how to handle that kind of think is with one point perspective, which is basically this:
by choosing one point to be your perspective point and creating guidelines kind of like this:
you can make the perspective and distance look better by fitting it:
also, on the third page, the thumb was on the wrong side of the hand.
hello again! i sent in some art here for crit a while back, but i think i’ve improved a little bit since? so i wanted to get some feedback/critique on it now! i haven’t been drawing very much lately but here’s some of my better more recent art!
my blog is @good-goddamn if you wanna see more stuff??
thanks!! i love your blog a lot!! you folks do good work!
hi again!! youve definitely improved, i can totally see it! the poses you draw are still super dynamic, i love it a lot. the eyes are still pretty simplistic, which is totally fine and if youre happy with them, they look great, but i think that trying to put white in the eyes would help them stand out a little more. i also noticed the blurred out background in the first picture, and i would love to see a fully rendered background from you sometime, im sure it would look really good.
could you promo my art blog @raisin-draws? (btw i love this blog so much y’all r doing the lord’s work)
