On some occaisions when I'm indulging in the good devil's lettuce, a particular neighborhood cat creeps into the backyard, jumps onto the bench next to me and plays around with my hand as I pet it. Its claws are pretty sharp and often leaves a mark, but the company is always welcome. This made me think of the little critter.
