Harmony and Edification
Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

The Basque language, known locally as Euskara, is a unique language isolate spoken by roughly 750,000 to 800,000 people in northern Spain and southwestern France. It is the only known pre-Indo-European language survivor in Western Europe, unrelated to any other language family in the world.
AIO for feeling uncomfortable when my neighbor looks me up and down every time she sees me?
Almost every time I see my neighbor, she very obviously looks me up and down from head to toe, like she’s checking out my entire outfit or appearance, and then she doesn’t say anything about it.
We’ve known each other for a few months now, and we’re slowly becoming friends. But she still does it every time, and I’ve started feeling uncomfortable because it comes across like she’s judging what I’m wearing or evaluating my body. There’s something about the way she does it that feels a little mean or unfriendly to me, especially because she never follows it up with a compliment, a question, or any explanation.
Would you interpret this as judgmental too, or am I overreacting?
Reddit consensus: NOT OVERREACTING (NOR) (100% confidence)
Top comment: “NOR. But your only move is to out-awkward her. The next time she does it, do it back to her but with exaggerated facial expressions as you do it. Do a double take. A triple take. Say "Hmmmm? Hmmmm. Oh? Mmmm mmmm! No no no." And so on.”
Notable comment: “I do this. To measure a persons demeanor. Or I’m checking out their outfit. But I try to not to. I look at hands often. It’s a trauma response. Although there are differences in the way people do this. I’d ask about it. Because I’m fine with being kind of a jerk if I’m unsure why someone is doing something. NOR”

Who Is Robert Winkelman, the Neighbor Who Killed Jessica Lashly and Her 17-Year-Old Daughter Over a Noise Complaint?
A quiet neighborhood in House Springs, Missouri, became the scene of an unimaginable tragedy after what authorities described as a dispute over noise escalated into deadly violence. Investigators say a 73-year-old neighbor, Robert Winkelman, walked to the home of 38-year-old Jessica Lashly on the evening of July 25 and confronted the family before opening fire. Jessica and her 17-year-old…

Hi, so I made a few headcanons for Pope Cody (Animal Kingdom), written strictly through the eyes of a deeply unnerved neighbor who is trying to get your attention somehow in a very strange way.
Hope you enjoy and let me know if I should keep doing more, xoxo <3.
AIO for refusing to keep doing favors for my neighbor after this?
A few months back, I started accepting deliveries for my neighbor when they weren’t around. Honestly, it wasn’t a major hassle. Since I work from home, it felt like a small favor no big deal at all.
But lately? Ugh, they've stopped even asking. Delivery drivers just show up at my place with their packages, and some of those boxes hang around in my hallway for days. Super annoying.
Last week, one giant box turned my entryway into a maze. So, I texted my neighbor, asking if they could swing by that evening to pick it up. Their response? You’ll survive another day. Talk about a lack of gratitude. I was pretty irritated. So, when another delivery person came knocking, I politely said no. Then my neighbor showed up at my door, accusing me of being petty and insisting, good neighbors help each other.
Now it’s awkward. They’ve been icy as we pass by, and another neighbor even suggested I should’ve just let it slide to keep the peace.
Am I really overreacting for deciding to stop accepting their packages?
Reddit consensus: NOT OVERREACTING (NOR) (100% confidence)
Top comment: “NOR. Your neighbor is rude and entitled”
Notable comment: “NOR. Taking liberties and getting angry when they were the inconsiderate party is pushing you into bending over backwards to please them. Who cares if they're upset? Either they can get over it and have packages delivered to a hub location or keep giving you the cold shoulder. At least you didn't accept the package, write a big "return to sender" and take it somewhere. They can schedule their deliveries better for when they are home.
Maintain your boundaries. People like to walk all over people who help them a time or two and it gets daunting when they assume they will always get their way. You are not living for their convenience. They do not pay you a fee to take their things and store them. You owe them nothing, regardless of trying to keep the peace. Where is your peace in that equation? Nowhere.”
