I'm so curious as to what patina/oxidize looked like at launch because they were already fixed by the time I got to scry my dragons.

Apparently I do because I was fiddling with Patina on a G1. Not a clean, just-primary image but it's close enough.

this is what the ice flight is. chains and prisons and the unrelenting apathy of winter. gaoler means jailer. they canonically lead a genocide against the banescales. for fuck's sake, the deity is named the icewarden. this isn't new, it didn't change, it's been like this since the beginning of the site.

you want soft wintery aesthetics, and don't like this cerdae because of the chains? good news! out of the ice fest fams, 11/13 meet your criteria. the last ice fest familiar to lean into the "prisoncore" aesthetic was 2016 (a literal decade ago) with the cragward custodian.

i get it. you're allowed to not like things, you're allowed to be disappointed, yada yada yada whatever. but i feel like this keeps happening. we have this conversation every riot of rot. we had this conversation back when everluxes dropped. for every person who wants picture-perfect beauty and aesthetic softness is another who wants gritty conflict and true-to-lore darkness. you have to understand that staff cannot appease both at the same time. not everything is going to be for you, and that's okay. you don't have to like something, and you don't have to interact with it.

i say this as someone who moved to light for the aesthetic. let things be ugly, and dark, and weird. let plague be gross. let ice be harsh. and learn to say "this isn't for me."

To echo the other asking for more modern terts post:

I'm begging for terts without accent colors, gecko gets utterly ruined by the giant stripe on the back that's a random ass color. I want more plain terts. Give me appaloosa blankets, give me socks, badger markings, give more belly terts especially etc. etc. I'm so tired of feeling like I can only use ub / glimmer / capsule in every project because most modern genes are so busy everything else gets so lost or makes it so much worse.

the other day I had a dream that flight rising released apparel that played music when you put it on a dragon / dressing room mannequin and you could layer them "my singing monsters"-style. and we were all really obsessed with this one purple plant-themed set and kept sharing the outfit (I remember it was on an m pose mirror mannequin) around on tumblr and the forums going "wow why is this actually really good" "sound of the summer??" "has anyone ripped the audio files yet" "I wish they'd put this on spotify" & I don't remember what any of the apparel sounded like at all but I wish this was a real update because 1) it's unbelievably funny how out of left field it would be 2) it's an absolutely Terrible idea
