🏕️ Camp Half-Blood: Chiron’s Final Straw 🏕️
Chiron had lived through wars, seen demigods defeat titans, witnessed gods rise and fall… but this?
This was the worst.
Camp Half-Blood had descended into utter madness. Every single god, goddess, minor deity, and underwater gremlin had been sending Persephone Jackson care packages, letters, cursed trinkets, and battle offers for the last four days straight.
The final straw had been when Hades, Demeter, and Poseidon started arguing over who could claim Persephone for grandparent-visitation rights, while Dionysus attempted to declare her his “chosen winechild” on a legal technicality.
Chiron slammed his hoof down so hard the strawberries trembled.
“FAMILY THERAPY. NOW.”
🏛️ The Big Gathering 🏛️
Camp Half-Blood’s dining pavilion was forcibly converted into a makeshift group therapy circle. There were hastily conjured chairs, a chalkboard, and one very tired centaur in reading glasses holding a clipboard labeled “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things.”
At the center sat Persephone Jackson, still rocking long wavy sea-water hair, arms crossed, radiating tired energy.
The gods surrounded her like competing shark tanks:
• Poseidon, throne made of seashells and passive-aggressive waves.
• Demeter, in a golden sunhat and apron, already setting out pastries.
• Hades, gothic robes, sunglasses indoors, sipping his black latte.
• Aphrodite, sparkling, misting herself with enchanted rose water.
• Dionysus, sprawled out with Diet Coke and a pack of gummy bears.
• Kym and Triton, sitting nearby with seaweed braids and silent amusement.
• Hestia, by the hearth, feet kicked up, toasting marshmallows like a gremlin.
• Artemis, arms crossed, looking bored but sticking around for the drama.
• Hermes, selling “I claimed Persephone first” t-shirts from a side table.
• Apollo, tuning his lyre.
• Athena, not even sitting—just pacing like a judgmental hawk.
The campers… well, they’d set up a betting pool.
⚔️ Chiron Begins the Madness ⚔️
Chiron cleared his throat. “We are here because Persephone Jackson, child of Poseidon, adopted by Demeter, self-claimed by Artemis, gender-loophole’d by Aphrodite and Dionysus, and step-kid to Hades, has been mentally waterboarded by familial chaos.”
Persephone raised a hand. “Correction. Emotionally drowned.”
Chiron scribbled that down. “Emotionally drowned. Thank you.”
He turned, steely gaze on the gods.
“You will explain yourselves… one at a time.”
🥇 Poseidon Starts, Predictably 🥇
Poseidon stood, power rolling off him like crashing waves.
“She, Persephone, is my daughter. Born from my blood, tied to the sea, inheritor of my power. This… tidal wave of claims is nonsense.”
He pointed his trident dramatically. “Everyone else is trying to steal my child.”
Demeter sniffed. “Grandchild. Through Persephone.” She smiled like she’d never done a petty thing in her immortal existence, which was a bold-faced lie.
Poseidon’s eyebrow twitched. “She doesn’t even like gardening—”
Persephone cut in, “Tomatoes taste like sadness.”
Demeter gasped like she’d been slapped by a cabbage.
🥂 Aphrodite & Dionysus Tag In 🥂
Aphrodite sighed, flipping her hair. “Look at her. That hair? That effortless glow? She’s practically my spiritual daughter. Gender flows like water. Identity is beauty. She’s mine by aesthetic rights.”
Dionysus burped, “Trans rights, babes. Gender is chaos, and I am literally the god of gender nonconformity. You’re all boring traditionalists.”
🧨 Kym and the Undersea Crew 🧨
Kym leaned in lazily. “She’s sea family, period. Poseidon’s kid, chaos in her blood, ocean hair, yeah, she belongs with the saltwater squad.”
Triton nodded, polishing his trident. “Also, she can throw hands.”
Persephone smiled. “That’s true.”
🧹 Then Hestia Just Destroys Them 🧹
And then, from the side, Hestia casually toasted another marshmallow.
“Oh please, you’re all loud and obnoxious.”
Everyone turned.
Hestia smiled sweetly, hearth-fire flickering behind her. “Persephone already agreed. The hearth is her home. Family is who shows up… and I always show up with snacks.”
She bit into the marshmallow with the smuggest grin in Olympus history.
The pavilion went dead silent.
Even the flames paused.
💀 Final Tally: Everyone Lost Except Hestia 💀
Chiron adjusted his glasses. “So… to summarize… Persephone Jackson is claimed by: Poseidon (blood), Demeter (grandchild loophole), Hades (stepdad rights), Aphrodite (gender-fluid aesthetic), Dionysus (trans icon status), Kym (chaos-at-sea membership), Artemis (therapy appointment loophole), and… Hestia by… sheer snack dominance?”
Hestia beamed. “Exactly.”
🎤 Persephone’s Closing Statement 🎤
Persephone stood, brushing sea-glitter from her hair.
“Look. I don’t care if you think I’m your child, step-child, descendant, gender icon, or pomegranate heir. I just want to eat dinner without being claimed like a clearance item at Target.”
She pointed at Hestia. “Snacks win. I pick the hearth.”
Hestia giggled and offered her another marshmallow.
Persephone accepted. “Also… Kym’s invited to movie night.”
Kym fist-bumped her across the room.
✷ Later That Night… ✷
Chiron sat by the campfire, sipping tea, marking “Worst Family Group Therapy: Success?” on his clipboard.
Meanwhile, Hestia and Persephone were roasting s’mores, Kym was teaching campers how to surf on the lake at night, and Poseidon sat sulking in the sand.
Apollo strummed, “She chose s’mores over oceans, love, war, AND the moon.”
Artemis muttered, “Honestly? I respect it.”
