As I mention before Ashanti even brought up how the hell could BET or people get upset with Nelly over Tip Drill but ignore what Em did.

And I understand there will be some people that say that Eminem was young and immature at the time. The thing is though that is part of his white privilege he’s afforded the chance to be young and dumb and make mistakes. See Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown can be murdered and all of a sudden people will bring up all types of things from their past just to prove they were no angels.

Would the media really care?  Nope.  Hell at this time Em was the first rapper to win an Oscar.  You had rolling stone and other magazine and media outlets crowing him the king of hip hop.  As I said before Viacom owned to biggest music channels on TV at the time and MTV and Interscope were like hand in hand.

The let down was that the hip hop community didn’t hold him accountable at the time and didn’t demand more than an interview from XXL.

Look at it like this.  How did the media treat Janet Jackson after her superbowl performance.  Remember they didn’t invite her to the Grammys because she would publicly apologize and how Justin Timberlake threw her under the bus?

Hell last year with Beyonce they wanted and demanded that not only should she apologize but apologize to the police as well.

Hell how the fuck did they react when Steve Harvey said the wrong fucking name during a beauty pageant? 

Eminem did an interview explaining that a black woman did him wrong and that was the reason he said what he said.

How many times did Eminem get beat up by black men growing up? How many times did black men call him Elvis or thought wouldn’t give him a chance because he was white. He didn’t make a song dissing black men though. You know why because he knew that would be the nail in the coffin but black women are so often disrespected and disregarded that he knew no one would care. Hell our own black artist say the same shit he did from Trick Daddy to Young Thug.

The point he was never fucking held accountable FROM THE JUMP. All he did was an interview with XXL that’s it.

Also his so called apology he never liked the girl. He only dated her because she was “fine” and if he could pull a black girl like that he would be popular. He even admits he was gonna dump her just to look cool but she used him for money and went with a black guy.

So again how hurt was this guy again if he was only using her??

mr-oh-my statement is an example of people trying to chalk this up to being young and dumb.  What is even more hilarious is trying to paint Eminem as the victim. 

Eminem said this as a foolish teen, in anger. Over a girl that hurt him.

He makes a song shitting on an entire race of women but we should take in account he was young, angry and hurt by a woman that he was only using to become popular and make his white girlfriend jealous.  He admits he was going to break up with her to look cool.

James Holmes and Dylan Roof can commit mass murders and people and the media will say how they are angry, lonely, young or they want us to understand what led to this.

Where is that empathy for Sandra Bland, Korryn Gaines or Freddie Gray? 

University of Oklahoma Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity was caught saying nigger in a chant.   Yet we had people making excuses for them saying they are young and they don’t understand the history of the word. 

They see college students as kids but see Tamar Rice and Trayvon Martin as adults.

Let’s not pretend that he doesn’t make a profit from the artist he is putting and has put on.  That’s almost the equivalent of saying Donald Trump has hired black people to work on his campaign.

Should we be held accountable for our immature behavior our whole lives?

You ask a question like that in the defense of Eminem disrespecting black women as an entire race.

You don’t ask it in defense of the countless young black men and women who were imprison during the whole bullshit war on drugs.  That once they are release they now have a criminal record.

How many black men and women have paid for their lives for making one mistakes while we see white people make the same mistake not receive the same counter action.

You ask that question in defense of Eminem saying the word nigger.

Do you think they asked that question for Mike Brown or Sandra Bland?

They didn’t sign 50 cent or Obie Trice because they were giving them a chance.  They saw an opportunity to make money.  It’s the reason why Stat Quo sat on the self.  Eminem and Dre only signed him because the Atlanta/Southern hip hop scene was blowing up in the early 2000s and they signed him but never released his album because they didn’t think they could make money off him

Accountability to me where Justin Timberlake is held just as accountable as Janet Jackson was. 

If you actually believe that then this conversation cannot I go any further . Because like it or not race is a factor in situations like this. I brought up Janet Jackson and you’re damn right I use race because Janet Jackson was treated as a pariah and painted as a villain while Justin Timberlake skated free. He was on stage with her he was the one who ripped the clothing off he was the one who expose her breast she caught all of the backlash. As I said before this conversation can go any further because if you fail to see that then there’s no point in debating.

You talk about accountability and holding people responsible. Yet this is the same country that will Blaine the upbringing of Dylan roof as the reason why he committed murder but say that Michael Brown was no angel or the Sandra Bland should have just listened to the police officer.

Would all be forgiven if Eminem would have held a press conference did an interview with Ebony magazine probably not but it would have showed people that he was willing to atone for his mistake. It would have showed that he was willing to address the people he hurt and disrespected.

Also XXL didn’t hit it big until Dr Dre 50 Cent and Eminem graced the cover of the magazine. That was the first time that the magazine outsold The Source magazine which was the number one hip-hop magazine at the time. From then on magazine catered to Shady Records aftermath and G-Unit they were always on the cover which was one of the reasons that the former editor-in-chief YellowNigga was replaced with Kim.

My point is this Eminem decided to do an interview with the magazine that cater to him and his record label.

I’m also down for having that conversation on how a white male hip hop artist made a racist song targeting black women because he was upset that a black girl broke up with him while he was a teenager.  The same black girl he was only dating to make his ex white girl friend jealous and to seem popular in the eyes of his classmates who were young  black men. We can also have the conversation how black men at the time ignored this revelation and didn’t pay it no mind but had he  released a song targeting black men I feel the reaction would have been a little different.

It does to me disqualify with me.  It would be different if he only spoke through magazines but he didn’t.

He could go on TV to promote his albums, hell MTV had whole hour special dedicated to him during the release of 8 mile.  If he could on tv to promote himself, do interviews etc etc etc he couldn’t go on TV to apologize?

I swear Killer this is almost as good as the C Delores Tucker thread and the Young Thug one as well.

And I honestly do believe that he got away with it. Because Hip Hop especially his peers looked the other way. They can say what they want but that’s exactly what happened.
