UPDATE:
The other day I was surfing the internet and I found this specialized painting colour wheel, it shows how real paint colours relate to each other.
Outside: the purest/brightest colours from the tube.
Inside: naturally muted or earthy colors, like browns and ochres.
The Center: dark neutral tones used for mixing shadows.
The Lines: two equilateral triangles. One shows the triad of primary colors, and the other shows the triad of secondary colors. Triads are traditionally used to create vibrant yet perfectly balanced compositions.
Complementary colors: are those located directly opposite each other on the wheel.
Shadows I:
If you want to achieve rich, dark neutrals, the standard rule is to mix a color with its direct complementary (opposite) tone. However, doing this can often make your shadows look flat or muddy.
Instead of using the exact complementary color, the real trick is to use one of the colors right next to it (either to the left or the right). By doing this, you avoid a dull mix and introduce a beautiful, subtle color bias into your shadow, keeping it clean and full of life. You can see an example of this in the second image.
I want to share this with you because I think it is really illustrative!

the fact that the vast majority of japanese language learning resources for adults are obviously targeted at weeaboos makes me feel sick
ONE reason i despise weeaboos is that they have so overwhelmingly displaced the diaspora as the primary demographic of people trying to learn about japanese language/history/culture. which of course makes it impossible to develop a grounded and multidimensional understanding of these topics for people like me who are trying to grapple with them rather than consume them. english language information about japan is not written by or for people who are critical of japans role in world politics for the last 200 years and want to understand enough to build an informed and nuanced relationship with where they come from. it is not written by people who want to understand what shinto and buddhism meant to their ancestors and how to adapt and continue those practices. it's packaging! it's basically orientalist art at this point! it's for people who consider it princess mononoke bonus content! doesnt that just make you want to kill and kill and kill

anatomy of a humiliation
John Brosio - Dinosaurs Eating CEO (2013) [2000 x 1833]
ive had trans men ask me before how to overcome the insecurity/fear that they are transitioning just to escape misogynist treatment and wondering about the validity of their identity. the simple solution is that u must continue to engage and fight misogyny even when you are not a woman. prove your fear wrong
u really cannot out-validate an insecurity that u do not do the work to fight against the structure that supports it u know. i am the gender i am simply because it looked fucking yummy. the reason i dont experience doubts w it in this way is because any time i do i turn around to face the thing im 'running from' and punch it
💯💯💯
🍥 go for it Sanji!!

the thing that always gets me about the US and jobs it considers 'essential' is those roles are always treated like/expected to be temporary, and you both get talked down to and it is made extremely difficult to live if you don't want them to be (temporary, that is).
i frequently miss previous food service jobs, not because i don't enjoy what i do now, but because i did genuinely enjoy those jobs too. the reason i left is because the expectation was that i either sell 40+ hours of my week to the job, regularly be physically injured with no support, either no or abysmal workers comp, inconsistent scheduling so it meant i had little to no life outside of work... and still, the actual labor of the job, i enjoyed. i enjoyed the people. i liked working with my hands and making people happy.
and you know, people often bring up customers as the reason to leave food service - this was part of my reason as well, but how much of that - like the unsustainability of working food service itself, bodily and monetarily - is manufactured? many of the people who were terrible to me working food service were often people working office jobs only marginally 'above' mine in pay and support, miserable with their own work, looking to exert some level of power they could over someone else.
this is a bit long winded, but i think its a perfect cultural example of how capitalism does not actually incentivize 'progress' or 'growth' as much as a constant state of desperation, discomfort and dehumanization - you arent actually encouraged to do what it is you excel at, but whatever you can just barely tolerate, all at the risk that at the current stage your body might give out and you will not have worked hard enough to have 'earned' the right to be care for when it does. and someone will be right behind you, desperate enough to immediately replace you.
Embarrassed to admit that I’m not even a real pervert. I’m a masochist because I’m bored and a sadist because I’m an asshole
ive been illegally downloading shit like its my job since i was 10
people who dislike bugs will always tell you that everyone dislikes bugs, but there are actually a lot of people who are okay with bugs and even like them
Okey pokie take TWO of doing this! This time, no blog chain. Too long and literally broke Tumblr for me.
So, heya gaymers. I have the new WoF guide with me. Ain't that wacky? Wanna read certain sections? That's cool. Here. Take this. PDFs. Not described unfortunately as I'm. way too tired... I'll try to space them out so it isn't a massive dump of pictures on my blog all at once. I dunno.

Little paintings with lyrics from the song ‘Coyotes’ by Modest Mouse, which has a quite poignant music video featuring a live coyote riding a train.
