You heard about an ultra realistic game which is a mix between an escape room and a haunted house. It's so serious that its participants have to sign a responsibility and non-disclosure contract. It changes themes every month, and this month's theme is "Peter Pan: Neverland or Neverescape?". It definitely intrigues you and, even though it's very expensive, you decide to go.
When you get there, they ask you a lot of questions, making sure you have no serious health conditions, you can endure physical challenges and you don't have any mental or emotional problems. This puzzles you even more, but doesn't stop you from going on. You get into a room with other participants and there is a draw to decide which character each one will be. Tinker Bell, Wendy, John, Michael and some Lost Boys are drawn until the name Peter Pan comes out for you. Then, you all choose costumes for your sizes and go outside.
What you see astonishes you: a beach with a cave system, a small wooden boat and a big pirate ship close to the shore. You are briefed about the game and learn that the objective is to find the map the pirates have hidden before time runs out, in 4 hours. They also tell you that the pirates will behave exactly as if they were real ones. They won't leave any permanent marks on you, but may use physical force. After a final check on everybody's willingness to go on, the game starts.
You start talking with other players and they tell you that this should require some kind of strategic play and not simply show up on the pirate ship, but you disagree and say: "Come on, what could happen? I'm sure that, if I'm not supposed to go there, they will simply send me away and we have to think of something else.". They advise you not to do that, but you go there anyway, alone, while they go looking for clues in the cave system.
You get on the ship, and don't see anyone. Over a wooden barrell, there's something that seems like a treasure map. You pick it up and suddenly hear: "Avast ye! We have an intruder, mates. Blow the man down.". You look back and see 3 pirates coming at you with ropes in their hands. They quickly tie your hands behind your back and sit you against the mast. You try to struggle, but it's useless, they're strong and tie your chest, feet and legs.
You ask: "What's this? You can't do this to me, I have to keep playing.". One of them answers: "You scurvy dog! We usually say that dead men tell no tales, but you can be of use to us. You're not telling any tales, though, you son of a biscuit eater. Mr. Smee, can you make sure of that?". Another pirate comes to you with a lot of cloths, shoves one inside your mouth, uses 2 as cleave gags and 3 more as over the mouth gags. You try to protest, but now you understand why they say the game is so realistic.
You hope that someone comes to save you, but it never happens and you have to wait until the end of the game to be released, when you learn that, to win the game, you have to solve puzzles and riddles and understand the story which you're a part of.
