"IN THE REPORT. AS IT SHOULD BE. I SEE." phineas nodded, showing as clear as day that he did not understand what she was saying. of course, those weren't such THINGS that were supposed to be said out loud, but.. that was how business had always been done. it was how he did it, as a pederson, and it wasn't anyone else's BUSINESS, as far as he was concerned. was it? no. placing an envelope in front of the other, as he only smiled. "i can assure you that money is not a problem." / @tideoflament
Lips pressed into a line as it was obvious the other did not understand the meaning of her words. And quite frankly, she was not going to indulge on it any further. This kind of line of work was risky as it was, let alone when having a daft client. Morrigan knew better than that. Plenty who were money-hungry had made similar mistakes before her. Morrigan paused as she inhaled, forcing a somewhat polite smile upon her features once more. "I assume you are not insured, then?"
"SO THAT MEANS THAT... HE'S ALIVE?" something within her told her that was the case and right now, elisabeth was glad. more than glad and.. right now, she didn't see that changing anytime soon. yes, she and parker did not talk. yes, the two of them did not talk and yet, she wanted nothing more than to get to change that. "that's a good thing, i guess.." @tideoflament
"Listen, lady, I don't know. There are other Funeral Homes in London, I don't own their registry. I don't know your son. I don't know if he is sick, dead, alive, married, unhappy - I don't know." Words were sharp, for the little patience she bore had seeped out of her. "Is there anything else I can do for you?"
"OH, DARLING, DOES IT LOOK LIKE I'M THE TYPE THAT SETTLES FOR NACHOS? although.. i suppose i could make an exception for the day. that and some wine." was it because she wanted a break? was it because she was still connecting with her old roots? something of the sort, she supposed. right? if anything, she just wanted a break and a moment to breath. just a moment to breath.
and to think about all of this. she already had someone looking for parker - discreetly, of course, but.. it wouldn't be long until she had answers of her own. right? yes. yes. "strings? i hope that it's something good or.. you wasted my time?" @tideoflament
"There's a type that doesn't settle for nachos?" he chuckled, trying to suppress an amused snort. The Hideout wasn't exactly a place for the fancy. Usually they found their way to their own clubs where the commoners wouldn't bother them. However, perhaps this woman found herself in need for a change in appetite. But nachos were a part of that, really. "Wine and nachos, very adventurous. I like it. What kind of wine would you like. We've got plenty of options for the lady, although I must say we do have a nice white one with hints of pineapple. Slightly tropical but in a subtle way."
Rob wasn't fond of her attitude. He enjoyed the small-talk part of his job, but it was obvious it was not her cup of tea. Which was fine, but he definitely made a mental note to just.. serve her. Gee, he hated to put it like that. But dealing with a possible Karen seemed like the worse alternative.
"best nachos i can wish for? is that so? can't be that hard to toss a couple chips in a bowl and melt some cheese on top." phoebe found herself teasing with a playful smirk on her features. "i do like fancy. love a good glass of wine or prosecco. perhaps a good cocktail or something." phoebe admitted, shrugging her shoulders. "what can i say? i like the nicer things in life." that wasn't to say she was wealthy or anything. she simply had champagne tastes on a prosecco budget.
she drummed her tattooed fingers against the bar. "what sort of things is this lady chef known for other than her nachos? if it's not considered too fancy by you; i'll have a vodka cranberry, please." she mused with a nod. "strings? interesting. do you often have live music in here?" @tideoflament
"Hey, wow wow wow -- don't underestimate the art of nacho-making. I'll have you know it's very much like any other sort of recipe art; if you don't do it just right it will be a complete waste of effort and good produce." There was an obvious exaggeration, accompanied by a smile that showed that he wasn't all too serious but mostly theatrical.
He handed her one of the menus, pointing to the bar-bite section. "Everything she makes is good. And I'm not just saying that to sell - it's true." Rob turned his back to her as he started to prepare his drink. It came easy to him, so multitasking wasn't really a problem. "As much as possible. It's good to give people a stage and I enjoy what it does to the crowd. I take it it's your first time here then?"

alex nodded, ever pleased to meet a new person. in truth, he could use a companion, if not a friend. "i think that i have more enthusiasm than vigor, but i appreciate the compliment regardless." a curious expression crossed alex's face, then. "i can't blame a skeptic. i can be the same way, depending on the situation." with what he'd endured, it was all plausible. "what is it that you have seen? other than being intrigued by the indoor plumbing, i mean?" alex found himself increasingly intrigued by tyrion's perspective. it would be interesting.
He inhaled, making his chest heave, whilst considering how to respond. It was hard not to spill into his old life and have people feel curious about the origin of his words. But he was also plainly aware that not everyone knew about their previous lives. Perhaps not everyone had one, even. Openly discussing it could certainly make one appear insane. "Are you.. from here? Or from somewhere else?" he asked, delicate with the words he chose to use.
valentina clicked her tongue at that. "forgive me. i have a rather morbid curiosity about things like that. especially considering i myself died then somehow wound up here. made me curious how i could've gone through all that shit, if i even did... then wind up here alive again." she admitted with a shrug of her shoulders before sipping at her wine. "i was trying to add some logic to all this but... that's proving impossible at this point." valentina should've known that, really. @tideoflament
Her chin raised in confused curiosity. Morrigan looked the woman over and wondered what on earth she had been using to get these kinds of ideas in her head. Died and came back into this world? What was that supposed to mean? "Were you in a coma or something?" she asked, brows furrowing in slight confusion. "Do.. try to find some logic, because I'm afraid you have lost me."
Trevor always either started or ended his day at a tavern, even in this new world it seemed silly to break that tradition without his friend. He fell back into old habits, something he didn’t wish to break given how confused he had been upon his arrival. This place seemed nice enough after all he wasn’t the type to care if the place was seedy or not so long as he was able to grab a cheap couple of drinks before making his way back home.
“Nothing about me is fancy one bit, I’d be shocked if you have it but I’d like an ale, pitcher if you got it, if not I’ll take the biggest glass you allowed to serve.” he mused moving to take a seat at the bar top not really thinking about eating but in truth tavern food usually held some nice options. “What kind of food can she make?” @tideoflament
"Not much ale to find around these days, my friend. You're born in the wrong era." A joke, yet Rob knew all about that. "I understand the passion though. Which is why I got a Fraoch Heather Ale. Brewed in Scotland, quite the old recipe but that's exactly what makes it taste like old times." He already turned to go and get the other a nice big glass. It wasn't often someone shared his taste for old-style liquor.
"All the usual. Burgers, fish and chips, club sandwich - all the bar food you can think of basically." The beer was placed in front of him and he handed a menu along with it.
MOST HUMANS BORED HER. WERE ABIGAIL TO BE HONEST, THAT WAS PRECISELY WHAT SHE WOULD HAVE KEPT ON SAYING, BECAUSE.. IT WASN'T AS IF ANY OF THEM WERE WORTH HER TIME OR HER PATIENCE, WERRE THEY? if anything, she was just out here because it was at night and because her father insisted that she was a failure. again. as if that didn't leave her angrier than most. he thought he could order her around? she'd do the opposite. "fathers and their gifts that they don't see that we will never like, eh?" well, one human that didn't seem to be particularly annoying. that was new. "and now, you're just.. handing them away?" @tideoflament
"Oh, don't forget me wrong. Often he gets things that are amazin'. Usually anythin' designer is good. Or I sent him a link and he just buys whatever I present." Charlotte continued, almost as if her ramble had never ended in the first place. It wasn't out of disregard towards the other person. It was more like.. well, everlasting enthusiasm. "--Who said anythin' 'bout handin' them out?! No, it's all for me! It's also my size and everythin'. What made you think I was handin' it out?" A giggle, for it wasn't really a question. Although the polite thing would be to give the other space to respond, so the blonde did exactly that.
"I AM THE OWNER OF THE FARM. YOU KNOW, THE LARGE ESTABLISHMENT THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE CALL HOME?" was he almost annoyed? yes. the other was either pretending to not remember him or didn't remember him at all and he honestly didn't know which one was more insulting. did he? he didn't and right now, he just smiled. attempted to calm down. just smiled. @tideoflament
A heavy frown started to cloud her expression. Her patience was running frightfully thin, jaws clenched together and she swallowed thickly. "I know of your farm I am just understanding what your business is here today." She had wanted to ask him if he was as daft as he appeared but swallowed down that frustration.

“I don’t know lady you approached my table, if it’s not to talk I’m afraid I’ve got very little else to offer you.” Trevor looked at the other; this place wasn’t all that different from home; he'd known that look and her words only seemed to confirm it for him on the very fact he’d stumbled into some type of dealings place. “This is my normal spot whenever I visit this bar, maybe I just like the distance it creates from the riff-raff. Let me guess you’ve arrived here and sought the tablet I’m currently using and wondering if I’m here for you instead of the solitude this booth offers.” @tideoflament
She snorted, lowly because it wasn't from pure humor. Morrigan leaned forward, making their interaction a bit more private than it already was. "Choosing tables like this isn't about getting away from the riff-raff, that much I know. And you do, too, if it's a common pattern. It does makes me wonder.. is there something you have to offer. You can spit it out and we'll see if it's useful."
Eric looked at the other for a moment after all it was interesting enough to know he’d been called and what could he say the woman piqued his interest. “I have to admit it takes quite a lot for me to lose my appetite, where I come from food is something of a staple, and the last time we had a major dinner it was over blood and guts.” he mused before moving to begin eating “is there a reason for the call or was it just to show me what I’ve been missing in terms of fine dining?” @tideoflament
Morrigan hummed, a small smile tugging at the corner of her lips in approval. It was rare, but she did enjoy what the other had to say. It stirred something in her that usually was fast asleep. A spark started to ignite behind her eyes, approval washing over her demeanour. "Although I do love the subject of blood and guts, what I wanted to say is perhaps a bit more plain. I would like you to work for me. But it's not really question - more like an announcement."
tanya smirked playfully at the other. "oh, my dear. believe me when i say that i have seen plenty more than you could imagine. i knew a time before plumbing too." she had seen a whole host of different humans appearing here. humans from all different times in the past but... as far? not many people who had lived long enough to see things change quite as much as she had. "where are you from, darling? you're far from home, much like myself, aren't you?" @tideoflament
"Let us cheer to that." he smiled, raising his coffee cup in a mock cheer before taking a sip. "I must say you do remind me terribly of someone I once knew. You are not her, of course, but the resemblance is uncanny." Another sip before the cup was placed back down in a careful sort of manner. "Westeros. Originally from Casterly Rock, if you're aware of its geography." Perhaps she was, for this woman seemed to be aware of many things. Much like himself, really. It was good company in that regard.
bella raised her brows, watching the other showing off the clothing items. "wow, you... you really went all out, huh?" she teased and let out a small chuckle. "you actually remind me of someone... someone i used to know." alice, in fact. someone she hadn't seen in a long time and she did admittedly miss the other. "you'd be disappointed to know that my wardrobe truly is the bare minimum. couple of plain tops and jeans and jackets. that's about it." she admitted. "you've got like... a whole new wardrobe in those bags!" @tideoflament
"Minimal?!" she gasped in exaggerated horror. "Oh, honey, that simply won't do! We gotta go shoppin'! Trust me, I know all the right places. Even when you are on a budget - that's what outlets are for, after all. What do you even wear on special occasions then?! And how many pairs of shoes do you even have?" At this rate Lottie was just rambling. Then again, she felt quite passionate about clothes. If they were the same size, she would have definitely offered some of her old stuff - not that anything she owned was truly old. But Bella was more petite than she and it wouldn't necessarily make her look good were she to wear a few sizes up. It was all about the sizing after all!
Sergei couldn’t help but chuckle at the other’s words, he’d come from a life of privilege and left it for the forest and woods. City Life had become too much for him to bear and yet he found himself once again locked within a place because of his brother. “I take it back home you were without a lot of things that this new place offers?” he questioned looking at the other while he spoke. @tideoflament
"There were a lot of things we didn't have back home. But we made do." he shrugged like it was a good old memory that he looked back upon with fondness. Of course it was more complicated than that. "I am a collector of stories. I would like to hear yours, if you don't mind my boldness in asking."

"PERHAPS I DO UNDERSTAND THAT. I MYSELF HAVE SEEN A LOT OF THINGS, LITTLE BROTHER." jaime did not know what to think. the thought of seeing his brother once more? it had not been something that he had been ready for and he had known - he had just known - that now, he owed tyrion his life. no, in fact, he owed him more than that and right now, he knew that much. "one would figure that we would discuss something different in our brotherly reunion, but.." @tideoflament
"Things are so different now that it almost makes you forget your old life. Almost." Tyrion sniffled in cynical bemusement and shook his head at the thought of all they have been through. Before. Now none of it felt accurate. "Indoor plumbing, you mean? I am quite amazed by it. I often wonder how not a single soul had considered it. Especially me, since I was in charge of the sewers system at the Rock. You'd think a mind like mine could've thought of it. How we survived the everlasting smell of shit and piss is beyond me now."
"IT'S... WORSE THAN IT LOOKS, ACTUALLY. THE OTHER GUY WAS WORSE FOR WEAR." myung-gi had a black eye and he supposed that he would have some other bruises in the morning as well and.. right now, he didn't see that changing anytime soon. did he have to stop this? this bad habit, from getting into fights that he could not stop himself from falling into? HE THOUGHT SO. "so, if you stopped because you were worried about me... i'm fine." @tideoflament
A laugh came from him, head falling back ever just slightly as he didn't wish to ridicule the other in any way. "That doesn't look like it's just fine, friend. We've got to get some ice on that before it starts to swell. Come on inside, I've got plenty of that." Robin nodded towards the hideout, a brow gesturing for the other to come and follow him in. "Trust me, you don't want it to swell."
