all those hearts and their souls

the bartenders knew her now - this obviously wasn’t the first time she’d had a bad day after 5 years in the same damn place. winter only noticed the stranger sauntering over to her when the bartender pointed them out to her. she’d just taken a sip of the current cocktail she was on when they finally arrived. “ hello there. ” winter sighed, turning to them with raised eyebrows. “ what do you want, sweetie? don’t you have clubs to be getting off to? ” 

he watched as she pondered and then laughed gently at her reply. “ i know, but i’m quite curious,”  thomas sighed, ran a had through his hair. after taking a swig of the beer, he set it down on the table near him. the make turned his body so that he stretched out his legs,  tangling them with hers. “ i think i’d like to have a nice family. i don’t maybe want things to be too comfortable because then our-- the kids would get spoilt and might not turn ot to be too friendly. a nice family though. nice home, happy wife, kids who are friendly and known for being friendly and not for being little shits... ” tom sighed, nudged her with his foot. “ i’ve been, now  you go. ”

they’d been toddling around for a while now. a fair share of rides had been done and now amelia had decided  that it was time to hunt down her absolute favourite princess ever. “ fabian, we ust - we just have to, okay! i always miss her and i don’t want to again. i’ll - cry if i miss her again! ” the young girl stamped her foot and fabian rolled his eyes with a chuckle. “ alright, alright. ” he sighed, held her hand and they carried on walking.

thomas was sat quietly, reading a book about some random sportsmans life. there was a nature documentary on the tv because that was all he ever really watched late at night. the pair had the busiest and most stressful of weeks and so were now taking a moment to relax. ever so often, tom would look up and oen his mouth as if he were going to talk - and then one moment headed to the kitchen, grabbed a bottle of bear and head back to continue reading. “ what would you say you really want from life though? ” he asked with a sigh. “ one of the teachers had a complete breakdown this week. she’s got two weeks off now and it just got me wondering... am i really that sorted in my head? and so i thought about what i want from life and what do you want? ”
