Improvising fatherhood

It's a shame I don't get on here enough to post good things about shouts. 8:00 am called to fuel spillage On arrival, a reliant robin had been tipped on its side by presumably youths and as a result all the diesel had leaked out of the fuel cap onto the ground. Slight damage to the car and the car next to it. The fuel had been there some time as the Tarmac underneath had burned off by about 1 cm. car tipped back up and fuel diluted and washed by hose reel jet. Soil used to soak up left overs.

Thank dear god the olympics are over, and we can get back to our normal lives! As wonderful the event is, and how great it was to have the sailing held on my doorstep, got a bit fed up with the pointless road closures and the council being silly. Now it's carnival week then followed by the Paralympics. It's all happening here!

It's great watching the Olympic sailing and every time the camera turns I can see my station ground. It's great having this event just off my doorstep!

Need to follow more firefighters!!!

After a fairly busy start to the day, it's gone completely dead. Hopefully we get another turnout to break my personal record. Ho humm

2.30 pm. Sent standby neighbour station covering a property fire in a cafe in the town centre.

11 am. Called to 1 pump small fire. Bed sheet with about 10 x 10 inches damaged by small fire. Extinguished using a bucket of water.

0:55 am. Called to standby to cover next door station ground incident 4:30 am. Called to inspect a cell fire in local prison. Witnessed the prison riot staff extricate the prisoner. 9:20 am. Called back to standby, on route called to property fire persons reported, however turned out to be false alarm. Seems odd how we are busier during the Olympic time, but haven't been to any Olympic related incidents. Hoping to be a busy day
