man thinking about ravus makes me kinda sad now. he's a very tragic guy. i daresay even a tragic hero (because his intentions were good)
I mean he lost everything, and I think that not only was him wanting to protect luna to an almost controlling degree was for the sake of his sister, but I also think part of the motivation was just to feel some level of control in his life.
I also think him remaining in the imperial army is another thing with that. cause obviously the imperial army is ultimately his enemy, I mean they took over Tenebrae, then the house Fleuret manor and essentially took everything from him. I think a major reason (potentially the main reason) he stays in the imperial army is that he has control. he likely craves control due to the level of tragedy that's happened in his life, as well as the fact that he's, albeit not openly, acutely aware of his sister's fate. Another reason is just the fact the imperial army would probably be very difficult to just leave if you have nothing else. I think another major reason is because it allows him to better protect his sister. but this, of course, has major consequences for him in the end, which is just another sign that any semblance of control he had was short lived.
he's a man surrounded by tragedy and full of bitterness and he can't truly do anything about it. and the real kicker is that he's literally the Oracle's brother
