"The story of a boy who became a man... By becoming a bear."
This movie is way too under appreciated in my opinionā¦ The fandom is practically non-existentā¦
And I donāt understand why? The plot was fantastic.
All of the characters were lovable.
There was no one that you absolutely could not stand.
The ābad guyā was actually the main character, Kenai. Which was an interesting twist for Disney.
But by building a bond with this young cub (Koda), and seeing the world through the eyes of a bear, he realized that he (as a man) had beenĀ the monsterā¦ Not bears.
I mean, talk about character developmentā¦
Koda: Those monsters are really scaryā¦ Especially with their sticks.
And for me, this scene right here was one of my most emotional Disney moments. You canāt even here Kenai telling the actual storyā¦ But you can see their facial expressions and you can just feel it. You know exactly what heās saying to Koda.
Kenai: Well, I have a story to tell you.
Koda: Really? Whatās it about?
Kenai: Well, itās kind of about a manā¦ and kind of about a bear. But mostly, itās about a monster.
ā¦ Kodaā¦ I did something very wrong.
Okay, but on a lighter note?
The animation was incredible.
Amazing.
It was a powerful movie about brotherly love, guidance, and responsibility, and it truly is one of my favorite Disney movies ever.
Not to mention the soundtrack is amazing. You canāt go wrong with Phil Collins.
The fandom will never be huge, but the movie definitely deserves more credit. If you havenāt watched it, I highly recommend it.
Brother Bear
I want to remind everyone that this movie is where theĀ āquit telling everyone Iām deadāĀ āSometimes I can still hear his voiceā joke came from.
This is still one of my favourite Disney films ever.Ā
Itās funny, according to critics no one liked this movie and it was panned hard..and yet anyone I talk to (including myself) LOVED this movie
People are weird
The fans probably migrated over to Brave once it came out. Which is pretty much the same basic idea, someone turns into a bear to learn a life lesson, but in this case, itās the mother of the protagonist, not the protagonist. Yet it still feels like they tried to resurrect Brother Bear through the same basic plot idea.Ā
Okay. I HAD to go watch this movie after seeing this post. I agree so well with this. Itās one of the best movies Iāve EVER seen! The ending is soo satisfying too! Probably my favorite ending to ANY other film.
Ā I can totally see fans moving over toĀ āBraveā, but seriously?
Ā Some people judge an animated film by how good or realistic the animation is, but I really want to see an amazing story that is simply enhanced by the animation. Not only how good the work is. Kinda like judging a person on how they look? A book by itās cover?
This film is a master peice and soooooo underrated. The characters are amazing and lovable. The plot is very well writen. The animation on top of that is so very well done. Over all, this film is going to be on my shelf really soon. Do they have Blu-Ray out yet..
