"Armed robbery." He said. "I went to the interview. Then I got out of the suit coat in a public bathroom. There's a bank across the way, stone throw from the bus stop."
Obviously, he'd heard the gunshots. " I put my bag down, chucked it in a corner like I always do. I only had my camera and the suit coat in my bag. i still had those ergonomic bracelets on me, I didn't bring anything else with me."
No, for once in his sorry life he'd left his suit at home. Metropolis was supposed to be the safest city on this side of the coast. His web shooters should have been enough for simple side line jobs. And even then, if he absolutely had to, he had his natural webbing. He didn't like using it, but it was an option. Now of course, his web shooters were now detained as well.
"Some mutant in blue got there before," before Spider-Man was needed, "...I could take good pictures for the paper. After I got back to my bag I got pulled over. Said they found guns and some money in it. "
He sighed through his nostrils and nodded. He murmured a soft mm-hmm of understanding. It was such a short period of time. He'd been doing this for years, he knew how to hide in plain sight, how to keep his things safe.
"I mean there's all those bugs in my apartment. I thought my bag looked clean." He was usually so careful to web it where ever he hid it. Between New York and now Gotham, the likelihood of his things being stolen were 9 to 1. if itwas webbed, then no one could take it. So how was it swapped?
"Sorry. I just... I didn't know who else to call. I'll see you when you get here. Thanks for bailing me out."
