Meet Mike (I think) Heās from the USA, specifically Montana. Mike is legally blind, but you woudnāt know it to meet him. He has some peripheral vision, but looking forward he says everything is just a grey blob. In the US summer he lives on his ranch in Montana, but for the winters there he comes to the Philippines, because the Montana snows are too much for him to get around in. Despite being mostly blind he travels extensively all over Asia. We met at the Blue Monkey a small little āstreet barā near the hotel. A very friendly place with cheap beer, and the best hamburger I have had anywhere in the Philippines or most of the United States. I trike driver brought it to my attention. Away from the main entertainment district, and friendly staff, cold beer and good food, all very affordable. This 1 day trip to Angeles was a great opportunity for me to meet a lot of really nice people. I also had to pick up my new ID card at the immigration office. Another American at the VFW club let me know that instead of going to the big immigration office that in downtown Angeles there is an office where I can get my VISA renewed for 6 months instead of only two. Iāll check that out in May. It will be cheaper in the long run and. A lot less hassle.
