FFXIV Shadowbringers - Anywhere
You know those nerdy kids in the early 2010s who used to slap together Naruto AMVs when they were 13? I was one of them. And then there was a period of over 15 year where I just kind of didn’t do that anymore.
But Shadowbringers is incredible. And this song… I couldn’t get it out of my head, so. Here we are!
It’s not professional by any means, and this is my first time touching editing software in a LONG time. But I hope you enjoy my tribute to this beautiful game!

Burnout Mario:
The colder he is, the better. He also doesn’t let himself feel emotions too strongly because it hurts.
He is grateful when given cold, sugary foods, but he will suppress those feelings to prevent too much pain.
Smoke roses from his body and his skin has taken on a sickly grey tone. His eyes are dull and empty.
Outage Luigi
Contrary to Mario, the hotter the better, as cold metal conducts electricity better. Foods like soup and chilli have quickly become his favorite.
He hates being startled or scared, because a jolt of electricity will run through his body and put him in pain.
He looks like the survivor of a lightning strike: burnt hair that sticks up, burns, and wide, frightened eyes.

hhh heck i love these a lot?? the forced contrast is really intriguing - fiery and energetic mario being restricted to the cold and overall more lifeless than his hotblooded usual self; and poor luigi unable to express himself and forced to remain calm lest he worsen his condition. not to mention the contrast with each other, it sounds like they’d best be kept separated in these circumstances, and no way they’d be happy with that :(
i really like these concepts, maybe in particular as the possible aftereffects of an overload that they failed to burn out on their own - i hope you don’t mind if i borrow/dabble with em in the future?? ;u;

not at all!! it’s pretty much free domain as far as i’m concerned, it’s more or less just an au based on a trope after all. one of my favorite tropes in fact. so seeing other people use it or just build on the idea or even just do their own thing totally? i’d love to see it!!

still not over it!! these are some sketches that i used to finalize my noir max design, and they’re super old -- from back when The Devil’s Playhouse was still young and fresh. i thought i had these uploaded here forever ago, but thinking back that may have been before i made this side blog. or i just didn’t tag ‘em right. oh well.
he’s an old’un, but my version of noir max might have been one of the first proper AUs i dabbled in. i expect myself to fall hard again with all the new(ish) sam & max content ripe for consumption!

MAN i looove firebrand & thunderhand tbh, they’re so cool. fire powers have always kinda a thing obviously, but i thought it was neat how it was made a natural part of mario’s moveset and how flexible it became bc of that. so much more variety than just lobbing fireballs directly at something. and differentiating luigi by giving him a slightly different but still similar element?? galaxy brain move. i was always p sad that it never got much continuity value after Superstar Saga..... let my bois keep their spicy hot hands wtf wrong with that
