Once again, some thoughts I had while reading Spy x Family chapter 136... Spoilers ahead...
I love that after all that stress, Yor's assassin instincts kick in and she dodges the tranquilliser. Loid just chalks it up to her being drunk, which I find funny but also really curious...
Loid seems to have a massive blind spot when it comes to Yor and he always has done. Whenever she does something wildly unlikely for a civilian, Loid very easily tells himself that it's just Yor and that's just the way she is. She has quirks and, as we see in the last chapter, he is aware that she isn't "normal" but he doesn't ever seem to question it. I wonder if he is just oblivious and writing it off as Yor being a bit strange or if he is purposefully ignoring these signs and writing it off as coincidences for the sake of the mission/his family.
Just something to think about...
I love that the tranquilliser has absolutely zero effect on Yor as well... This was my theory from the last chapter (if I remember correctly). I would've found it super funny too if Loid accidentally hit Yuri or an SSS agent with it but this way makes for fewer consequences, so it's totally fair to go down this route. I did find these panels funny.
I absolutely loved Yuri this chapter ( ꈍᴗꈍ)... He's still being classic sis-con Yuri but he is acknowledging that he needs to change, and him admitting that he doesn't hate Loid is huge for me.
I like that slowly but surely he is realising that he needs to grow up and get over the fact that Yor has found somebody she wants to be with. It's not going to be an overnight change but he is changing and that's a pretty big deal.
Nonetheless, these panels of Yuri absolutely losing it had me cackling lol

Loid hears that Yuri is dead and that the party is coming to an end and feels the purest happiness overtake him. He sees the light at the end of the tunnel of his neverending tummy aches.
Chloe being the real MVP this chapter. Absolutely loved her getting more screen time (what is the manga equivalent of the phrase "screen time"? Page time? Panel space? Idk this is just me rambling now) and I really hope this continues, and perhaps we will get to see Yuri actually having a positive relationship outwith his relationship with Yor soon? We can only hope... I'm rooting for him
And, of course, we have this cute little panel below.
Loving how calm Yor is here, I think as soon as Loid displays that he needs help, she completely forgets about how flustered she is. I love that she is also fully aware of how Loid works himself to the bone and doesn't like admitting when he needs help. I think this is a great way for her to express that she genuinely cares for Loid (and hopefully he actually realises this)
The fact that Twilight also scolds himself for his negative thinking concerning Yor. He's aware that the situation wouldn't have happened if it weren't for his own previous actions. Yes, his main worry of the evening stemmed from Yor but it was his own fault.
I think this is a sign of him untangling some of his complicated feeling for Yor though. I think a part of him is wondering if the mission would be easier if he didn't care for "the wife" in the Forger family, like back in Chapter 120 when he was considering if Fiona taking on the mother role would be better for the mission.
It's not much but I like to think that this may continue unravelling until we see Loid genuinely having a breakdown about this.
Again, this is just my own thoughts about where the series is going, I really loved these past couple chapters. I'm glad we are getting more Yuri and Chloe content, they are two characters I find really endearing so I hope we get more. And I absolutely loved the Twiyor content too.
I just hope Loid gets some time to chill out before more shenanigans ensue... Ya boi is exhausted lol

Very interesting discourse happening on spy x family twitter right now. Apparently, we’re mad at Twilight for… *reads notes* acting like a spy? People are mad he might tranquillise Yor to get himself out of a dangerous situation.
He’s been panicking for two whole chapters. He’s surrounded by SSS. He's running out of ideas. He knows if they catch him, they’ll either torture or kill him. There’s a long con mission riding on him getting out safely. Of course he’s stressed and willing to do anything possible to get out of that party.
Why is potentially tranquillising someone his biggest sin? HE’S AN ACTUAL SPY PEOPLE. He has a body count!!! He’s not some squeaky-clean law-abiding citizen. Tranquillising someone is not out of the realm and would honestly be pretty tame on the list of Twilight’s crimes. It's also not being painted as the heroic thing to do here anyway. It's a desperate act. So the outrage seems disproportionate to me. Like, that man is a spy. He is not thinking straight. He is not normal. He never has been...
Also, it’s a comedy. What about that setup and Endo as the author tells you it’ll be played straight? Tranq probably wouldn’t even work on Yor since she has a strong immunity to poisons and sedatives. Plus, Twilight is not getting off scot-free. This chapter is literally him suffering the consequences of bugging and interrogating Yor disguised as the SSS agent earlier in the story. He is well acquainted with karma by now.
AND he has chronic gut issues.
Anyway, this is my favourite panel from the chapter. Look at him. Pathetic loser.
I also think people are forgetting that Twilight is also considering tranquillising Yor in this chapter for HER safety too.
If his cover is blown or the SSS find anything vaguely suspicious about either of them, it could have a disastrous effect not only for Twilight but the Forger family as a whole.
We even see Twilight contemplating what will happen to Anya if his cover is blown - something he never would have put much thought into at the very start of the manga.
Twilight is juggling the future of the mission but also the future of the only two people he has allowed himself to become remotely close/attached to in decades.
Yes, of course, using a tranquillising dart or smth on Yor isn't morally good but at the end of the day 1) he is literally a spy, morally grey is part of the whole deal and 2) he has the safety of Yor and Anya as his top priority, whether he realises this or not. He even stepped in to take a bullet for Yor a couple chapters ago ffs

As usual, some of my fave bits of the latest Spy x Family chapter (Chapter 135) along with a bit of analysis (if you really can call it that lol)
Spoilers ahead...
I love how chaotic this whole chapter was, Yuri was a great source of chaos but the SSS director even more so...
From his entrance to his drunken rambling, he kinda stole the show lol you'd think as the director he'd be like super responsible and on the ball but no he's just an absolute menace, a complete liability
I love his pettiness, like he uses his power in the SSS to be completely unreasonable, which obvs is dislikeable... It's also like the exact antithesis of Loid's whole "I can't let emotions get the better of me for the sake of the mission/peace between the nations"
Loid goes to great lengths to convince himself and others that decisions he has made due to his emotions were actually with the sake of the mission in mind (like his hesitation to kill Yuri way back in Chapter 83). He jumps through hoops in an attempt to justify these emotional decisions as logical ones instead
This doesn't seem to be a worry for Director Wilker. Not only is he irresponsible about what he says and who he says it to, but he's also comfortable ordering his officers around over grudges. This plays quite heavily into the SSS and Wise being arch nemesis and being polar opposites, which I like. As much as I find Yuri super endearing, I 100% imagine that if he had the power of the director he would absolutely use it for selfish things without remorse, much like Wilker. In fact, the other officers even seem to be babysitting Wilker in a similar type of way as they were babysitting Yuri last chapter.
In other news, Loid is still suffering from Hot Girl Tummy Aches™ and Yor-induced panic attacks...
I loved Yor fully causing a Loid crash-out unknowingly cause she wants to get over her violent urges when she gets flustered around Loid. We love a queen who knows her flaws and makes an effort to better herself (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*.✧
And I especially liked that Loid had his Twilight eyes™ on a good few times during this chapter. He is locked in rn and hasn't clocked how easy it was to say he loves Yor in the last chapter imo
His face when he pulls Yor closer (and says how he loves her more than Yuri) doesn't read as genuine to me. This is very much the face he makes when trying to convince someone of something (although he does have a little blush on his face). This hammers home to me that his "confession" last chapter was not intended to be an actual confession. He might have underlying feelings that he is unaware of but he is defo not confronting them yet. I also think it might be because he's saying it with an ulterior motive in mind (of making Yuri uncomfortable so they can get away with leaving the party early)... but I guess you could argue that he had a motive during his "confession" since he needed to avoid suspicion
My argument to this would be that 1) He doesn't make that phoney smile like in the panel below - he just says is like it's nothing 2) He doesn't have an internal monologue leading up to it explaining his thought process - because there was no thought process behind it imo 3) I don't think Loid's feelings (that I believe he is unaware of) are as deep as Yuri's are for Yor, so it is a genuine outright lie
As siblings, Yuri and Yor are extremely close and we see Yuri demonstrate just how strong his love for his sister is every appearance in the manga/anime. While I think Yor and Loid have feeling for each other, it's unlikely they match up to that deep brother/sister bond Yuri has with Yor.
Yuri and Yor's reactions to the forced proximity is brilliant... But I didn't have a kicking-my-feet-and-giggling moment this chapter. That's not a bad thing, I think those moments need to be a little spaced out to make them more impactful but they have been a lot more frequent recently.
I'm hoping for more chaos in the following chapters (and maybe some more forced proximity (perhaps Loid using this situation as a cheeky excuse to be close to Yor?? For the mission obvs)). I wonder how Loid will go about this situation without drawing suspicion to him, from the SSS but also Yor.
As an experienced assassin, I imagine she will be a lot more difficult to pin down with a tranquilliser than Twilight would expect - she might also be more aware if she has been tranquilized, she might have a better understanding of the differences between being drunk and drugged, and she might realise that someone as at the party drugged her somehow.
I think it's too early for a reveal to even be on the horizon so I don't think she'll suspect Loid but it might create suspicions about Yuri's "friends"
(Edit: This came to me as an afterthought but Yor is also immune to poisons, maybe Loid will successfully get her with the tranquilliser but it doesn't have an affect on her omg)
Idk I'm not sure how this will play out but I'm looking forward to the next chapter to find out. Once again, I'm hoping at the end of the party, once he has a moment to himself, he'll reflect on how easy the words "I love her" came out his mouth. I really hope we see another internal crisis from Loid when he realises he's down bad for his fake wife lol
Finally finished AOT the other day (I started watching the show way back in 2013-14ish and just never got around to the final season) and genuinely will still be thinking about the Uno reverse Eren pulled for years to come

Pre reveal Loid admitting to himself that he loves Anya and then thinking that in front of her.

Having to bite her tongue and Not say it back because he's looking at her Real confused and he'll know she's a mind reader if she just starts saying that back or him at the park.
Biting her tongue and waiting. Wanting to say it back to him. Eager for the opportunity.
Him getting nervous because She's clearly nervous about something and He doesn't know what.
Yor knowing something is off all of the sudden but not knowing what. Loid expressing his own concern and confusion. Maybe Yor can ask her? Anya clams up when he does.
But she can't tell Mama. Because what if Mama thinks it's weird she's so eager to say I Love You to her Papa who has always been hers. (Except not really)
Almost saying it at dinner. But is that strange when they never said it before? It's not hamburger steak. If she said I love you after hamburger steak they'd understand.
Not wanting to say it at all during homework time.
Sitting next to him on the couch while they read spy wars together as they have so many nights before and wanting to say it. Him wondering why she's so distracted.
Her bringing out a book at bedtime and asking him to read it. "That one's short enough. I suppose. Just the one book, it's getting late."
Watching him the whole time because she wants to hear Him say it again and she's so nervous. Him closing the book and sitting next to her on the bed and asking her in that gentle tone of his what's wrong.
"I love you Papa." Forcing it out because she's still so scared to say it. Almost incomprehensible as she buries it in his thigh as she clings to him.
But he understands. She hears him echo it. She... Loves me? "I... I love you too." And there is no lie in his head as he pets hers. Even if it hurts him to say like it hurt her a little to say.
Pops her head up. "I love you Papa!" Meets his eyes.
"I love you Anya." He echoes back. Like they are practicing saying it. Which they are. Unfamiliar words. Words for Yor and Anya but not him.
Throws her arms around his neck and hugs him. "I love you. I love you Papa."
He holds her back. Those words are so hard to say. Terrifying and horrible and certainly mean the end for him. Squeezes her tight to his chest. How did she know? Did she? Or is this just his adopted daughter being so much braver than him. Than he could ever be?
"I love you Anya." There are tears and a smile that is too real for his face. "I love you."
"and we're going to have to ease into this or else Yor is going to get very suspicious of us."
Looking back at some Spy x Family panels and noticed something (which might be absolutely nothing ngl)

These little orbs appear in the air around them, as if to really signal that this is a big moment. It's almost like a way to show that it's an emotional tipping point or something (there are definitely people on here who have clocked this and put this into words better than I have)
It's not like we haven't seen these before, they've shown up a good few times. The time I remembered pretty well was this scene with Anya and Damian in chapter 96

The panel of Loid is orb-free... Except these little tiny speckles
I can't help but feel like this is intentional. I think it's mainly because Loid doesn't believe what he's saying yet
Yes, the SSS agent can tell Loid is telling the truth but I don't think Loid has clocked on yet, in his mind he's just saying it for the mission and in the interest of staying under the triple S radar
Imo there could be a second moment upcoming of Loid confessing his feelings and actually believing it, saying it for no good reason other than to say it. Not to convince others, not to keep up appearances, not for the mission but simply for him... And in that panel we'll see lots of those little orbs to signal that he really feels it

In the case of Yor and Damian I believe that these were being used to show that they were imagining what 'could be'; Damian a closer relationship with his dad, and Yor, a closer relationship with Loid. They were very intentionally placed there to represent a complex emotion.
Meanwhile, with Loid, they're suppressed, because he probably isn't intentionally thinking about how he loves his wife. But they're there. And this isn't the first time we've seen Loid with them, either.
In this scene, for example, he's waking up after dreaming about his mum because he's associating Yor with that comfort. And look at those orbs!
When we see yor being sweet through loids eyes (and we know this is through loids eyes because she has the same cuteified appearance as when we first saw her when loid was considering her to be his wife) she has them
He has attracted to Yor for a while, because she has always had this dream like and ethereal iconography associated with her when seen through Loids perspective. She is something distant and unobtainable.
