Always A Treat @ DCOVA
Threesixty.us was again invited to DCOVA for the introduction of their new menu. To be honest, I was really excited to try out what they have to offer as other bloggers and I had a great meal and time dining there the last time.
Carbonara DCova (RM18.90)
The Carbonara is not a new item but it is their best selling. Made with generous chunks of back bacon and eggs. The pasta is al-dente and nicely coating the creamy egg sauce with subtle salty bite of the bacon. No wonder why it’s their best selling. It is really good.
Pasta Al Nero Di Seppia (Squid Ink Pasta) (RM25.90)
Riz Al Nero Di Seppia (Squid Ink Rice) (RM28.90)
For seafood lovers, you’re in for a treat with squid ink. Many are vary about squid ink based food due to the intimidating colour and the fishy smell. The squid ink used by DCOVA is processed into powder that is just enough to accentuate the taste of the seafood used in these dishes without overpowering it. The flavor of squid ink reminiscence the sea yet not overly ‘fishy’. It is usually used in rice or pasta based dishes and it gives a nice glossy black colour to the plate. It helps that DCOVA uses fresh seafood in their dishes that gave the whole meal a fresh sweet seafood flavor.
Both the Squid Ink Pasta and Rice from DCOVA were made really simple but tasted heavenly. The pasta was tossed in olive oil, squid rings and topped a heaping serving of Ebiko, which gave the pasta a great fragrant and slightly salty taste to it. I thought it would be great to add a sprinkle of chili flakes. On the other hand, every grain of rice was nicely coated with squid ink and fresh large shrimps lie on the bed of rice. It tasted somewhat similar to fried rice but better.
Cheesy Baked Rice Tuna (RM20.90)
The fragrant rice is cooked with DCOVA’s special blend of herbs and topped with a layer of their special homemade sauce and choice of topping (sausage, tuna or prawn). The best of it all, the golden brown cheese crust of Mozarella and Cheddar that was baked.
Classic BLT (RM19.90)
BLT, Bacon-Lettuce-Tomato speaks the tier of ingredients used in the sandwich. To sandwich it all, DCOVA uses English muffins. It was served with a garden salad tossed with balsamic vinegar on the side. If you’re looking for something simple yet tummy filling, I suggest the BLT sandwich.
DCOVA Signature Freddo (RM11.50)
If you’d like cold cup of coffee but hate it getting diluted as the ice melts, try out the Signature Freddo. Freddo is an iced strong brewed coffee with milk and syrup, blended until smooth. A great choice for a sunny day.
Yuzade (RM14.90)
If you’re looking for change from the regular coffee and tea, DCOVA is introducing the Yuzade in their menu; a refreshing soda with Yuzu and homemade Japanese Yuzu jelly. Yuzu is a great source of Vitamin C and relieve sore throats.
Shanghai Rose Tea
Calling out to all girls who love a good afternoon tea without bleeding your wallet dry, try out the tea selections at DCOVA. The one we tried was Shanghai Rose tea that gave a nice subtle rose scent. You can add honey and lemon into the tea for extra depth of flavour.
Chocolate Lava Cake
The lava cakes were baked in ramekin and when spoon in, an eruption of luscious chocolate flows from the center of the cake. Served with vanilla ice cream, the perfect combination.
Chocolate Rum Cake
Rich chocolate cake layered and chocolate mousse with a little kick of rum. Chocolate lovers will love this. It’s different from the regular chocolate cake you get elsewhere and the rum brought out the chocolate flavour of the cake. Delicious!
DCOVA had never disappoint in quality of food and services. A great place to dine with friends and family and be assured of scrumptious food.
Starting from 1st July 2015, all price stated in the menu will be subjected to 60% of GST tax.
