yooo were getting closer and closer to the consultation date and I’m soooo excited:... but/.... I also do not understand how to do insurance. eek.

dude wearing this gave me the *worst* dysphoria but like- I got to walk around town with a deer skull on my head looking kinda like i just stumbled out of the woods through a Michael’s and right into the center of town- dazed and confused. 

also also: I have officially decided to tell my parent only what they absolutely need to know because I’m twenty years old and this is my body and I’ll do whatever I want with it and they can butt out. body autonomy bich

sooo back in october I scheduled a consultation with a surgeon for the big titty chop.. Originally it was set for April 9th buttttt I just learned they had to move it back until April 30th.... I AM SO EXCITED! I am a little disappointed that it got moved back but it’s totally cool because its still one step closer to living in a body that  don’t despise:)

I haven’t scheduled a consultation with the surgeon yet but! I start therapy next week(!)(that way I can get a letter of readiness to get insurance to cover the surgery) sooo- after I have that session I am going to email the hospital/surgeon about a consultation. I just want to say- I’m excited:). finally,,, I can see a future that I really like- where I am in a body that is really and truly mine. Anyways,,, I can feel the smile in my heart. It’s a good life. 

Okayyyyy, so,, I talked to my mom finally and it was scary and she convinced me not to schedule a consultation with the top surgeon yet- truth: Im a little bit disappointed, but I 100% understand where she’s coming from. For one, I personally haven’t even talked to my dad about it yet and he (though he may not be supportive of this particular change) deserves to hear some of these words from my own mouth instead of from my mother. Her second main point was valid as well. I am actually having major brain surgery in May and truthfully should be focusing my all of my medical energy there. So, in light of these arguments, I am going to schedule an appointment at the counseling center here at school and take that road where it leads me. Though a teensy bit disheartened, I am ready to handle this and take things one day at a time until I reach the other side. 

Good freaking afternoon folks. I have known that my body doesn’t match my gender for longer than I initially realized. It hurts when I think of the parts of me that don’t fit. I know that now is the time to start taking control of my realty and begin the journey to a body that I can be proud of. I am going to talk to my parents and then I am going to request a consultation with a doctor at the University. I have done my research. I am more than ready for this step. This is Day One of my official journey to physical freedom.
