Usually, I don't like updated homes, but the one looks good, and you can still tell that it's an MCM, but it's been picked up a notch.

Turning down a short hall, you pass through the dining room and there's a fireplace.

Going straight ahead, there's the living room and double-sided fireplace.

Through a glass wall there's a view of the deck and garden.

The remodeled kitchen has new mid century modern style cabinets and counters.

In this corner there's a classic MCM Swedish fireplace and a door to the deck.

The spacious primary bedroom is basically original.

The renovated bath has a vintage reproduction tub that is Victorian era throwback.

One of the bedrooms used as a den.

The rec room has bar, a fireplace, and a 1920 speakeasy look.

The smaller bedroom is still a good size and was fitted with a sliding industrial style door.

The home office has some nice wallpaper.

In the back there's a deck under the patio.

There's also a large flagstone patio.

And, back here, there's a cute little A Frame hut.

Large, pretty yard has a patio and a gazebo.

It's located in a lovely neighborhood, but not far from the city area, the Mississippi River, and the bridge to Illinois. .28 acre lot.

Open the door to this wonderful main hall. It features wainscoting, original brick fireplace, ceiling beams, and a large bench attached to the gorgeous stairs.

This is amazing. Look at the beautiful windows, too.

Off the main hall there's this round tower room lined with glass-fronted shelves. A personal library, or the perfect place to write.

Whoever took the photos took these odd, partial shots of each room. The dining room has a lovely tile fireplace and wainscoting.

The kitchen remodel is a winner.

Seriously, it looks like a Victorian kitchen. I wonder how much of it is original.

Then, there's an adorable seating alcove on the stair landing.

What a lovely bedroom. An alcove perfect for morning coffee, (have the chef bring up breakfast), with a closet on each side.

They photographed the bath thru the mirror. Well, I love the sinks.

I hate tubs w/stairs, but the tile is a pretty color.

Another beautiful bedroom suite w/its own bath.

The attic is finished. Now, that has to be an original tub.

It's the perfect house for book lovers.

Outside on the 2nd level it has a beautiful balcony.

And, a porch with stairs to go down to the garden.

The 2nd bedroom is nice, as well, and features an exposed brick wall.

They don't give the lot dimensions, but it's about a block from the Arkansas River.

I did not, however, expect black. But, it's really works with the wood and brick.

It's a very cozy room.

I'm sure that this room was renovated, b/c it's no longer a sitting room and has this wall-size shelving unit.

This sitting room retained some architectural details and they were given some contrast, painted bright white against bright royal blue.

I'm thinking that a wall, w/a secret door in it, was put up to accommodate the mural and close off the dining room, which they don't use.

They left the double doors that opened from the black room.

They painted it pink, made a little fireplace-like thing, and built a platform for it.

This would be the original kitchen.

They redid the original cupboard.

And, this is the new kitchen. Not really a fan.

They left the original staff stairs.

There's a single water closet beside the main stairs.

The stairs got some cute wallpaper.

Original oak railings.

Modernized bedroom.

They're all painted the same shade of gray with white trim.

Renovated bath has a tile shower.

And, this was probably the nursery in Victorian times.

There's a deck on the back of the house.

Outbuildings consist of a carriage house and a shed/chicken coop behind it. 1 acre lot.

The exterior changed, too. The ornate porch columns were replaced and the fence was removed. The shutters are also gone.
