âI do not think that her asylum comes free, no matter how much they care for their Targaryens.â They would want something in return, it was the way of the world. Doran Martell had two sons. âVery brave, yes, or very foolish. She had nothing thereâno Queensguard, no army, merely a hood for her hair and Ser Mormont beside her. Had Hardyng discovered her, he might have had her head.â Margaery did admire the Dragon Queenâs boldness, though it was begrudgingly. She never would have done something like that herself. âShe looks to take her children and her throne back, as we might have expected. Dorne will help her.â She paused, and added: âsheâs looking for other allies, as well.â
âNo, of course not. Asylum is never free, my dear.â She agreed. She wondered what exactly the Dornishmen asked for in return. She thought of Quentyn and Trystane in particular. She listened, a frown settling on her lips. âA hood for her hair and Ser Mormont? Gods, Iâm very supportive of brave young women, but surely a Queen such as herself knows better?â She rolled her eyes. They didnât need another Targaryen whoâs boldness rivaled the fire for which they drew their strength. She nodded, âOf course she is. She will be met with disapproval from Hardyng, of course, and Stannis as well.â She sighed. âHave I told you Iâm very bored with all this Targaryen nonsense? You would think at this point one of them would give us something different, but itâs the same dance every time.â She sighed. Of course, the dragons themselves changed, but it all came back to the same thing: the throne is mine. Then, she couldnât truly fault the dragons. It was the same song everyone sang. âYour husband will never agree to such an alliance.â She mused, reaching for her tea. âBut weâve supported the Targaryenâs before.â She considered. Renly wouldnât go for it, and neither would Olenna without the proper reasons. âDo you believe sheâll stop at that, my dear? Reclaim her dragons, and her throne, and be content?â She questioned. Olenna knew the Targaryen girl needed allies, but she seriously doubted she could be persuaded to the womanâs cause. She didnât trust she wouldnât want more, and Olenna would do anything to protect Margaeryâs crown.Â
