When I came out as trans to my parents it was the last possible moment (a month before top surgery) as I had always lived with the its no ones business attitude, but obviously needed to inform them of a major surgery. My (disabled/spinal injury & Parkinsons diagnosed) father hugged me and told me he knew what it was like to have a body that didnt work for you and he was proud of me for doing something about it and I cried like a baby
