More Aquilo! Yep, I definitely hope nothing bad happens to him… wait, what’s up with his hand? 👀

I want to introduce someone very special to you guys! This is Aquilo, my main character in a personal project I’m working on called Dark Ice! It’s still in the works but I managed to make lots of fun art of my sweet boy.

I’ve been experimenting more on shorter, 4 panelled comics nowadays as I’ve noticed I tend to go overboard on the panels. So I wanted to see how they come across as shorter pages. I included the full pages below here! Tell me what you think!

Another piece I made for Mother’s Day, but I was pretty busy so I finished this later on in the day with whatever time I had left. It’s La Luna and his younger sister Elvana (or Ellie) with their mama, Freya! (Ellie is a human btw! Their father, Akira, is human. Which also makes Luna half human!)

I’ve had this image in my head for quite a long time now! I’m glad to finally put it down. I love the results so much!!

I have a weird love/ hate relationship with Cryogonal. I remember when Black and White first came out, I was awestruck with Cryogonal’s design. It was so creepy but so cool that I had to get one in my game! Unfortunately, the ONLY location where Cryogonal was located had a 1% chance of encountering them.

It took me like 30-45 minutes to find them 😂😭

Ik they increased the encounter rate in B2W2 but kid me didn’t want to go through that hassle again. But you couldn’t imagine my disappointment/anger when Cryogonal just became a regular spawn in the more modern games like the Sword and Sheild DLC smh.

‘Breaking’ or pushing a characters personality out of their comfort zone interested me suddenly when Luna, who is considered to be well spoken, kind, and a bit awkward was momentarily ‘posessed’ by an evil snake in his campaign. It was really fun getting to switch character into a more sinister and creepy tone while Luna was under possession before his teammates wrangled the snake off of him. I drew this a day after the session to touch upon a ‘sinister smile’ he gave before being ordered to attack his friends.

It’s actually kinda hard to break a character drawing wise, cause you already got a sense of what their personality is. So switching to something completely opposite of their character is almost jarring, but fun of you know what direction to steer them in.

Yes! It’s Excavalier! As someone who grew up on Gen 4, I was admittedly quite stubborn on wanting to like Gen 5 when it came out. But I still remember being blown away by the Unova Pokémon designs as a kid, especially the bug types! But I remember exclusively drawing Excavalier and Accelgor in my notebooks in school, even gifting a drawing of them to my teacher lol. I still remember being upset not being able to have both Pokémon in my game cause I didn’t have another DS or both titles to trade/evolve them! Haha. It was a little hard ‘breaking’ the personality of Excavalier due to the many moving parts in its design, but at the end I focused more on the rendering to test the waters of painting metal again.

Btw, I’m super happy a lot of people really loved Natu and Xatu’s drawings! It tickles me that an obscure Pokémon suddenly gained interest! I couldn’t be happier my drawings somehow moved people this way, even if I drew them for the silly fun of it lol. Thanks for enjoying my work! Drawing these really obscure Pokémon I liked, even as a kid, almost feels like I’m visiting an old friend again. I don’t know why they stuck with me a a kid, but perhaps it’s true that every Pokémon can be someone’s favourite!

Part 2 of La Luna’s outfit reference sheet! This time it is an outfit for a snowy environment. We had an entire arc based off a frosty island, so Luna needed a proper outfit for the time. It’s surprisingly complex but flows beautifully in the wind, great for any wizard casting spells. Also some sketches!
