Music or Madness?

This is Red Flag by Billy Talent. This 2006 rock song addresses a truth we all know: The children of the next generation live in the world shaped by the generation before them. 

“You tell me youth's fucked up, the kids are too, people only grow up when they've got nothing better to do.”

This is Back to Life by Paradise Fears. This song is soft, relatively upbeat and talks about ‘growing up’. I challenge you to, in the next week, schedule yourself just a little bit of time to do something that makes you feel ‘young’ again. Doesn’t matter if its making yourself a sundae while watching cartoons or playing with the dog and getting all muddy. Do something fun, something in the spirit of this song. And, if you’ve got the time, let us know what you ended up doing.

This song is for all of you who are sick of being told you’ve got to be drunk to have fun. For all those that feel like being a loner, and doing things you actually enjoy on your own. Take Loner by Ghost Town, turn up the volume and enjoy your night. 

Allow me to explain myself on this one. 

The year is 2015, the month December. The holidays are approaching and its WTF Friday here on thisblogkillsdubstep. I, not knowing what to put down frantically google weird rock songs. Then I find this one. Did you know the jerk who decided to raise the price of AIDs was arrested by the FBI for fraud? He got on this santa’s naughty list. 

This is Santa Claus has got the AIDs by Tiny Tim. And yes, this song is old(1994). Its almost as old as I am.

Sure, Halloween was like two months ago, but if Hollywood can get away with putting out a horror film (*cough*Krampus*cough*) during the holiday season I can show you a creepy music video in December. This video may start out with the a bit of This is Gospel but it quickly spins into something entirely different.

Now that we’ve reached the dog days of finals I’ve taken on some needless challenges to distract me from the chasing your own tail feeling of studying. This video is full of the cute pups of Waterparks and a cast full of very well trained dogs. Today’s Monday and here to help you kick of this week is this ‘caffeine’ fueled song! Bad puns aside: Caffeine is a song off of the RWBY Volume 2 Soundtrack by Jeff Williams and Casey Lee Williams. 

Anyone who said that soundtrack songs couldn’t be good are liars. This one is available on iTunes. 

I’ve got anther great band here today! This is Unbreakable by Fireflight. 

Fireflight is a Christian Rock Band from Florida, US. As you can tell they have a female lead (Dawn Michele)  with strong vocals. This song is off their 2008 album Unbreakable, but they’ve come out with more recent albums such as: For Those Who Wait (2010), Now (2012) and Innova (2015). All of these are available on iTunes and Amazon.

Starset is one of my favorite bands because of their amazing ability to write songs that you really feel. Touching lyrics, great transitions and all around wonderful art. This is one transmission you don’t want to ignore.

So I had a really hard time deciding on the video I wanted to kick off both the Revival of thisblogkillsdubstep and WTF Fridays. This is the end result of my Sugar and Procrastination fueled inter-web search.
