meeting fireflight, your able to learn a lot of little things about him very quickly. His favorite shows, the flavors he dislikes, his favorite place to visit on weekends, etc. the big stuff- like what’s worrying him often, who he wants to be, where he sees himself in the future- takes longer. He seems like a “wear your heart on your sleeve” type of mech at first but eventually his friends start to realize that the things that are deep in his heart he has to be willing to give away. The truth with him is that he would be very hard to read if he ever shut down- the vibrant and bright ways he expresses himself are intentional.
Slingshot is the opposite. You learn a lot of very big things about him quickly, but only if you have the eye for it. The way he lies to deflect from his insecurities makes those insecurities all the more obvious, while making it near impossible to get to know him properly. He doesn’t let people see the little things he likes, or the foods he gets picky about- they don’t need to know that. But eventually he’ll realize that his friends want to know it. Getting him to accept that is how you really get to know him.
