I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream. I know you, the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam.

That’s hard to pin down because there have been so many but probably one of these:

- I wouldn’t marry me either, a pathological people pleaser who only wanted you to see her

- he said that if the sex was half as good as the conversation was, soon they’d be pushing strollers, but soon it was over

- you know that I’d give you my wild, give you a child (not shocking per se but surprising in its raw vulnerability)

- you said that if we’d been closer in age then maybe it would have been fine, and that made me want to die

- you kept me like a secret, but I kept you like an oath

- give me back my girlhood, it was mine first

- I had a bad habit of missing lovers past / my brother used to call it eating out of the trash / it’s never gonna last

- when I said I didn’t believe in marriage, that was a lie

- everyone knows that my mother is a saintly woman, but she used to say sometimes she wished that you were dead

- you shit-talked me under the table, talking rings and talking cradles
