Consulting a series of bills - he took it upon himself to manage the financial administration of the Firehouse; only then could he guarantee that they wouldn't fall behind on payments - he'd been in the middle of performing the usual calculations, completely oblivious to what the other was seeking to do underneath the desk - until his legs were gently pried apart. A glance at the sofa nearby confirmed that its occupant had vanished - and it didn't take a man with three doctorates to decipher just where he'd ended up.
