i do, in fact, still have the vague idea of a Zoo oc kickin' around in the back of my head. they're a young adult with very curly dark hair and an indeterminate gender. nobody at the zoo knows how they got in. its unsure where/when/if they sleep and/or eat. they seem do have about as much knowledge as a regular Zoo employee, they even wear the purple Zoo polo over a thin white turtleneck. there is, however, no record of them on the payroll/staff manifest, nor do they wear a name tag or any other identification. by all rights they should be an exhibit, but nobody has found a way to keep them in an enclosure yet. in fact, any time they are locked in an enclosure Amos runs into them about two hours later and they return some cleaning supplies to him after reporting that they're done cleaning out the enclosure that was supposed to contain them. it is unsure where they got the cleaning supplies or how they are able to escape locked enclosures. mothman does not realize they're not actual Zoo staff. mckayla thinks that they're a normal part of the Zoo. Amos thinks they're a diligent worker and they're friendly with the gourd stand guy.

my thoughts on zoo

does anyone care? no. do i care that no one cares? also no.

okay, so most importantly: i loved it. i really, really loved it. it’s up there with my favorite podcasts right now, on par with death by dying and welcome to night vale. it’s just fun. it’s engaging. it’s interesting. i stayed up for almost 24 hours straight listening to most of it at once. it’s great.

i’m gonna put the rest under the cut because ~spoilers~ but like, here’s my opinions i guess! in no particular order.

#this is fantastic!!!!#tbh i also dont understand why visitorship is important to the zoo bc it doesnt actually meed to turn a profit #but i do understand why mothman would be dispassionate abt killing certain cryptids #i feel like its probably bc he created policies to keep every animal safe #and so things like the siren that put everything around her at rusk when she goes ham like that #may be killed if theres decided to be too much risk to the employees and others to use nonlethal means #but also i think were going to discover that the sirens are actually a lot more sentient than mothman thinks bc im p sure mothman thinks #theyre animalistic. like paiges changeling who reminds me of this story i once heard about creatures who can like infect ur shadow and drain #energy from u until they have enough energy to take ur shape and replace u. changelings in zoo remind me of that and those creatures werent #really considered sapient. it was more like they were a kind of parasite. which is why i think paige is an exhibit. bc shes not so much #sapient shes just a good mimic #but idk #zoo podcast #the zoo podcast #mckayla kespar #titanium violet #mothman #amos #courtney barnes #alexander beckett #oh also ur right the intro is so fuckin good #bone daddy~#gay deer #dahlia riddle

-Mothman

-Zoo follows Mckayla as she goes through coldcases and the same faded purple Zoo sign with a moth on it keeps showing up in a lot of different case files and in the area of crimes

-Strange occurances and statements every episode

-Cryptids and a zoo for cryptids

-Loveable characters of all kinds as Mckayla and the Zoo go all over North America

-This is a bad summary but you can find Zoo where ever you stream your podcasts or on the Zoo Podcast website, please make me happy and listen to the first episode. It’s a nice series to start while waiting for a new episode of Magnus
