I recently remade from my old blog (phantomfest) due to a security issue and I… was a fool and didn’t wait until I had refollowed everyone before deleting.

List of essential oils and kitchen oils toxic to cats. Most of these are quite common so clean up thouroughly after yourself and make sure windows are open! Also avoid burning/diffusing these oils in excess around your furry friends!!

This is a list of crystals that are commonly known, generally easy to get a hold of, and have multiple uses.

Agate - protection, good luck, balance, strength, inspiration

Amethyst - calming, emotional stability, balance, inner strength, protection from psychic attacks

Aventurine - happiness, peace, healing, prosperity 

Calcite - amplifies energy, cleansing, reduce stress, calming, emotional healing, memory

Carnelian - creativity, manifestation, luck, protection

Citrine - does not retain negative energy, thus never needs to be cleansed; creativity, motivation

Clear Quartz - a power stone used to provide extra energy and can be used to charge other items; healing, protection, power, banishing, charging

Fluorite - stability, peace and calm, impartial reasoning, responsibility, concentration, meditation, protection from psychic attacks, self love  

Hematite - grounding, deflecting negative energy

Jasper - protection, relaxation, tranquility

Jet - eases grief, protection, banishing

Kyanite - does not retain negative energy, thus never needs to be cleansed; cleansing other stones, tranquility, removing energy blockages, channeling energy

Labradorite - attract success, dreams, reduce stress and anxiety, spiritual connection, transformation, clarity, peace

Milky Quartz - luck, calming, soothing, meditation, purification

Obsidian - grounding, negating and transmuting negative energy

Onyx - grounding

Rose Quartz - self-love, calming, romantic love, and friendship

Selenite - mental clarity, removing energy blockages, cleansing and charging other crystals

Smoky Quartz - grounding, banishing, cleansing, removing emotional blockages

Tiger’s Eye - self-discipline, practicality, protection, grounding, peace, clarity, intelligence, intuition, financial stability, calmness 

Cleansing and Charging Crystals - a good rule of thumb is that if you’re not sure if you can place your crystals in water, salt, or direct sunlight because it might damage the stone, use moonlight or starlight instead. You can also place your crystals in a dry bath of herbs and flowers, or pass them through incense smoke.

As a kiwi witchling, sometimes it’s tricky celebrating the opposite sabbat to our Northern hemisphere friends! For example, while (what feels like) everyone is gearing up for Samhain, the days are getting warmer and Beltane is on the way for us!

I’m no expert but I’ve done my best to summarise the sabbats below with dates for us Southern hemisphere babes.

🎃 Samhain 🎃

April 30th/May 1st

Considered to be the witches new year, Samhain is a cross quarter day; it is situated between the Autumn Equinox and the Winter Solstice. It is a time to remember lost loved ones, and a time for reflection. Samhain inaugurates Winter and is the last of the three harvesting festivals.

🎄Yule 🎄

June 20th-23rd (on the Winter solstice)

The shortest day of the year marks the turning point in the sun’s descent; from here, the days begin to grow longer. Also known as the Winter Solstice, we celebrate this as a time of renewal and hope.

⛅ Imbolc ⛅

Aug 1st/2nd

Imbolc marks the end of winter and the return of the sun. A celebration of light, hope, and spring being just around the corner. This is a great time to clean and cleanse your home, making way for new things to come.

🌱 Ostara 🌱

Sep 20th-23rd (on the vernal equinox)

Ostara celebrates the coming of fertility and is the time to plant seeds for the year to come. Just the act of planting a garden is a magical act in itself.

🔥 Beltane 🔥

Oct 30th/31st

A celebration of fertility and the season of fire, Beltane is a celebration full of joy. Many rituals contain sexual symbolism and some choose to conceive children at this time.

☀️ Litha ☀️

Dec 20th-23rd (on the summer solstice)

Midsummer or summer solstice, this is a celebration of the sun, the longest day of the year and a reminder of the shorter days to come. Midsummer is also a good time to collect herbs, flowers and other plants.

🌾 Lammas or Lughnassadh 🌾

Feb 1st/2nd

This sabbat is the first of the three harvesting festivals. Celebrations focus on grain, the harvest and being grateful for the food on our tables. Baking bread is a common ritual.

🍁 Mabon 🍁

Mar 20th-23rd (on the autumnal equinox)

The second of the three harvesting festivals, Mabon is the last spoke in the wheel of the year. The days are growing shorter and colder, and witches give thanks and reflect on the year.

My favourite thing to remember about the wheel of the year is that these celebrations are not man-made. They are a basic part of how our earth works and they are holidays of nature 🌎🌿

spend time outside and pay attention to the changes in the season

make lots of tea and charge it all with good energy

jump in leaf piles

wear cozy sweaters and put wards on them for protection

cover urself in leaves

light an excessive number of candles

eat the leaves

feel the leaves

I made a super quick and simple tarot spread based on taking things “one day at a time”, for those of us who are feeling overwhelmed by a situation. This spread is designed to give fast advice on the day you’re reading for in a non-cluttered way. Hope this helps! I’d love to see people using this so feel free to tag me if you do! :)

Some assholes have been putting nails in cheese and treats in dog parks in Chicago and Massachusetts. Also adding antifreeze to water bowls.

The cat was given to the vets and for 2 days it’s insides were slowly dissolved by the acids and it bled from his nose, mouth and even eyes.  

On the second day, the vet not being able to help and refusing to let the cat suffer any longer put the cat down. The neighbor who did not deny his crimes didn’t even offer to pay the woman’s vet bill.
