One of my favorite things about kakegurui was that the main cast consists of pretty much only female characters and when there was male characters they weren’t shown as love interests. I also loved how most of the characters are queer coded and even are shown to have romantic/ intimate relationships with other female characters.

But then in bet they almost completely erase all of that. Yumeko is given two male love interests when in the anime she’s literally anything but straight. One of the love interests being Ryan (ryota in the anime) is totally weird especially since they were shown to have an endearing platonic friendship in the anime. The relationship between Michael and Dori (Midari) even though in the anime Midari is obsessed with yumeko.

Another thing I don’t like is the shipping between Kira (Kirari) and Yumeko when they are related in the manga + the Sakura erasure 💔💔

in conclusion the anime is better because all of the characters are pretty much sapphic and Michael doesn’t exist in it.
