Idonno why some people here think the endgoal of everyone's OCs is for them to end up in a full novel or webcomic...sometimes you just want a thing to think about or draw. For fun. Not everyone wants or needs to sell a story and that's fine. Moralising art or writing people do for Personal fun as Bad because it'd never sell or compete is a sad way to look at creation for creation's sake

This doesn't apply to stuff people actually want to publish to a wide audience or sell ofc. That's a diff conversation

I'm going to be describing reproduction but it's from a social angle you're not getting a biology lesson today

Lukrets do not create romantic bonds like humans do, they create these sorts of little communities? That reproduce and raise children together, when the children grow up they get sent away to another community, which evolutionary came from avoiding incest since with this setup there was no real way to say who was related to who?

Nowadays this gets tracked for medical reasons so this tradition gets broken on occassion, people stay, people return, some just need a little more time before leaving, life happens, like this used to be really damn strict abt it but nowadays alternative living paths are getting more and more accepted

And to be clear communities cannot be reffered to as polycules, they contain people of all sorts of ages and as previously mentioned sometimes biological family

Their communities originally operated on a matriarchy due to the female sex being generally larger and stronger, [yeah Tak is male! He's "short"!!!!] I would say lukrets were a lot quicker to abolish sexism and gender essentiallism than humans, but remains of that still exist, there's still more women holding positions of power

This still needs more consideration but ya, Tak doesn't really have family in the human sense of the word, and like many lukrets he does not really miss the community that raised him, he remembers them fondly, they were nice to him

What he really misses is the community he lived in before he got banished to the surface! Damn!!!!
