Since it will be a MASSIVE session, we will need EVERYONE’s cooperation. So I’ve decided to lay down a few ground rules.

If you are someone’s server player, connect your host ASAP. We must NOT waste time; there will be hundreds of us launching into the medium at the same time.

Don’t prototype anything insanely powerful before entering the medium. But PLEASE prototype BEFORE you enter.

In the event that you meet up with fellow players in the medium (given our estimated numbers, this is highly possible), form bands together. We will ALL need help.

As soon as the Space Players deploy into the medium, ALL KNIGHT PLAYERS, please head straight off directly and partner yourself with a Space Player. Gotta get frog breeding ASAP.

It is highly likely that we will be confronted with extremely powerful enemies due to the amount of prototypings that will take place. This means many of us might not make it. Keep an eye out for dead or dying players.

If you spot a dead player and have no idea which planet they’re from, and they’re not on their quest bed, immediately kiss them just IN CASE their dreamself hasn’t been revived yet.

If you spot someone dying, immediately lend aid. Ask them which planet they came from, and what quest bed you need to lay them on to. If the planet/bed is close, it is much more advisable to lay them on said bed. If not, and you’re sure they’ll die soon, please hold on to them until they die, then administer a resurrection kiss.

LET’S NOT BE AN ASS AND KILL EACH OTHER. Unless you’re planning to ascend to the GodTier, in which case it’s okay. But please kill them only if  they’re ON the quest bed.

Seers and Life players must always be at the core of every party. Do not attempt anything dangerous without either a Seer or a Life player.

Remain in constant communication with different parties. This way, we can all update each other on what we have accomplished so far, and if we’re ready to confront the Black King.

Don’t procrastinate; we have the fate of a universe in our hands.

Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT confront the Black King and Queen alone, or even with a party. The attack on both royalties must be carefully organized; they will be prototyped a THOUSANDFOLD or more, and will probably kill an entire party of a hundred in a heartbeat.

Keep an eye out for the Agents of Derse. If they rebel against their royalty, all good but make sure to keep an eye out for them even if they’re allied with us. You never know.

Whoever ends up as our Ectobiologist/s, you guys know what to do. Just press the buttons.

Derse players, listen to the HorrorTerrors. Prospit players, watch your Skaian clouds. And then please COMPARE NOTES together. We want to be able to isolate what we need to do and what can come later, and what may lead to our doom.

the players who go godtier in a dead session

because, like, they’re immortal, and with everyone else dead there is no way they CAN die, because suicide is neither heroic nor just, so they will simply continue to reincarnate forever

until they start to go insane from lack of human contact and anomie

and although sburb keeps them from dying, i imagine that there’s some sort of degeneration going on, maybe every time they die they come back slightly wrong in some way, their speech becomes garbled and they slowly start to look less and less human or whatever

and eventually

inevitably

the only voices left for them to hear are the whispers from the furthest ring

because with all of the time in the universe, even prospit dreamers visit Derse eventually, and as the incipisphere ages the boundaries between universes start to weaken

and it’s so hard not to just give up and accept the invitation, shuck off one’s mortal bonds and leave the session for good, sliding into the many-tentacled embrace of the horrorterrors as your body fully degenerates into madness and lines of code, no longer yourself anymore

Basically, everyone’s in the Medium already. Meteors destroyed the earth, etc, all that jazz. We’re getting a cryptic message from the Horrorterrors (through sbarg.tumblr.com). They are confirmed Horrorterrors (x). They keep mentioning “him,” someone ominous that is out to get us. It says that we’re “safe from him for now” on our lands (x), he doesn’t know (about what, I’m not sure) (x), but he will find out (x), and he’s already here (x). We are not able to contact him, and even if we could, it wouldn’t be wise (x). He will destroy us when he finds out (x), and it’s not going to be long (x). He’s distracted by other objectives right now, but news of our arrival travels quickly (x). He’s a formidable opponent (x). Lord English, perhaps? Or someone else? In the FAQ, it says “he” is a common enemy.

It says closed player/client loops are “advised, but not mandated” (x).

Everyone should have a chumhandle, strife specibi, kernalsprite made from two items found in your dorm room or wherever you were when you entered the game, and a land given by the game. For my team, they’re listed on my Sbarg page.

We CAN choose our own moon (x). Everyone can hear the Horrorterrors and Prospitians may see things in the clouds (x). I’m not sure how relevant this is to the game, though.

Titles will not be relevant unless we die, which is strongly advised against (x). But we will be able to reach Godtier (x).

Frog breeding is not of our concern (x).

Creating a new universe is NOT our objective (x). Our goal will be revealed to us upon entry (which has already happened. We’re getting it now I think) (x).

Jack Noir is not in this session (x).

We might be able to scratch the session if need be (x).

There is a first guardian (x). Most likely this tumblr: http://2—x.tumblr.com/. Text is all in white, so ctrl+a to highlight it. BUT Sbarg says that this tumblr is unrelated (x). It may just be saying that to throw us of the trail. 2—x may be someone just messing around, but most likely not. This is probably important. 2—x is not saying who zie is. Apparently it’s of no concern to us right now (x). Apparently it’s not relevant if zie’s our guardian or not (x). Zie’s not affiliated with the Horrorterrors (x). Zie says to trust no one and question everything (x). Zie’s here to give us the best chance of survival (x).

I’ve been wanting to do one of these for a long while and the song Child of Light from The Getaway Plan’s new album, Requiem, is absolutely perfect for it. So here you go! I put a fair bit of work into this but it was a lot of fun too!
