You see my friend's cat got sick really badly. His gallblader broke he was barely eating and go to emergency vet two day ago. My friend's is not in a stable financial situation and need to raise money that would allow him to either help his cat live a little longer or help him pass away gently

The recent discussions on this blog reminded me of this short that slightly irritated me. While I can see his points on why women enjoy bl, it frustrates me that he ignores addressing how misogyny is prevalent in bl communities and mlm shipping culture. The fans and sometimes the media itself will sideline, demonize, or just reduce the female characters to cheerleaders for the mlm pairing. I also hate the reasoning of how if female characters are "too weak" or not "well written enough," then it's completely valid to ignore them and only focus on the boys instead. Screw exploring their interiority or attempting to develop them to make them more interesting. Even in media where female love interests aren't weak or poorly written, you'll still see a consistent trend of pairing the male characters together while shoving the female characters off to the side.

Not to mention I don't get the logic of saying it's feminist to mainly consume media revolving solely around male characters instead of, I don't know, consuming media that centers female characters like shoujo and gl. Or if you're in a fandom where the female characters aren't written well, reading fanfics and meta that actually explore her character and dive into her interiority. People can have their preferences, I just hate how they use the claim that it's "feminist" to prefer content that doesn't focus on women and mostly ignores them at best.
