Now Jaskier is on a boat travelling with guards, all ordered by his parents to keep an eye on him, when someone unexpected also boards.

Geralt boards the ship with Ciri, hoping to put some distance between them and the people chasing her. He’s glad to see Jaskier and wants to apologize for what happened at the mountain.

But the guards keep stopping Geralt from talking to the Viscount of Lettenhove.

To the point that, whenever Jaskier performed a magical feat, his parents praised him.

Because of this, Jaskier doesn’t really understand how powerful or unusual his abilities are.

Then Geralt comes in, and he’s completely baffled by Jaskier.

Now Geralt has to keep reminding his bard that it isn’t normal to talk to animals, change the weather with your mood, make someone spit out flower petals for insulting Geralt, or do anything like that.

That’s what the Nilfgaardian soldier told Geralt about Jaskier’s death. The soldier mocked him, saying they had captured the bard and that Jaskier cried and screamed while they tortured him.

Jaskier kept calling out for Geralt to save him until the very end.

Geralt is heartbroken when he learns that his bard is dead, before he ever had the chance to tell Jaskier how much he loved him.

But then, one day, Geralt meets Dandelion.

Dandelion is a bard who says he has amnesia. He also happens to look exactly like Jaskier.

Famous singer Jaskier casually brings up his husband during an interview.

Of course, the internet immediately starts trying to figure out who the mystery husband is, looking back at every time Jaskier has been seen with or talked about another man.

Jaskier has studied astronomy, he knows the constellations, the old songs and myth that made them into being. He knows the brightest star in the sky, he knows of planets and lunar cycles and can point them out on a map, or on rare bright occasions, in the inky blackness above.

That doesn’t mean he won’t ask Geralt to point out the Traveling Star, the guiding light. That doesn’t mean he won’t play dumb until Geralt bodily moves him to stand right in front of the Witcher, back against chest, so that he can follow his line of sight.

I cannot explain how much I love your work🥹, Regis and Geralt… They are so in character. I also love the scene where Geralt demonstrates a pirouette in front of Regis, saying “but I am more fearsome”. (To avoid spoiler I won’t say what happened next that made me laughing out loud in the middle of the night…)

Regis’s leathery wings🥹. According to several references the membranes should be red. But I felt it doesn’t quite fit into this “darkwoods with moonlight” ambience, so I drew them in black. Hmmm for some reason I think that probably made Regis appear more formidable? (Maybe?). Also, the anatomy of his claws is probably definitely wrong😓, but I really wanted to draw Geralt’s hand locked with Regis’s claws…

“You entered the clearing with bravado. And made quite the impression. But it wasn’t enough. After a brief clash, your sword was, oh… knocked out of your hand, oh. Your only weapon, your only defense. A little fragment of silver. And now,” he sighed, “you were entirely helpless…”

“I also keep a knife in my boot,” Geralt reminded him. “And these studs across my knuckles aren’t for fashion.”

“You couldn’t reach,” Regis waved the suggestion away, “He had you pinned.”

“To the ground? With his talons?”

“To the ground, to a tree. Whatever you like. Maybe you were rendered immobile with a gaze,” he mused.”
