When someone tries to prank call you... and fails
When someone tries to prank call you and tries to make it sound serious and just ends up doing a horrible fail. So today I got this call form a blocked number, but I hardly pick up my phone anyway, so I just turned the volume down thinking it was nothing. Later, I looked to see that I had 1 new voicemail so I decided to listen to it.
Abridged version of said prank call:
“Hi this is *pause* a general from a *long awkward pause to think of what I’m going to say* from a *insert incoherent words* office from Texas informing you that you have been reported for bad driving. Do not take this personally because you are a woman. Just a check up, so go to your local police department to get checked out. Again, this in no ways because you are a women *blah blah blah, more ‘not because you're a woman’* I once had a woman lawyer and it backfired terribly. It was like an orgy going backwards. It just backfired terribly and not like an orgy would go terribly, well that was getting inappropriate, so call us back, bye”
Now let me just mention all the things wrong with prank call, not that you can't figure out the obvious ones, but more information that just makes this sad.
most likely, if this were a serious call, the person would state their name and where they were calling from.
since you can't hear the call, you should know the caller is attempting to do a British accent and it sounds terrible (and if you go back and read, they say they are from Texas and I’m pretty sure most Texans don’t sound like they are from Britain)
they stress the point that I am a woman (not to mention they know what ethnicity I am, which makes me believe that this person knows who I am and I know them, still working on that one though)
with the mentioning of the person being from a Texas department/office. Fun fact, I don't live anywhere near Texas. I live in the midwest and Texas is in the south (depending on how you look at it)
saying that this has nothing to do with the fact that I am a woman even though they state that they have a problem with women (their lawyer)
comparing the outcome of their case to a failed orgy. Lets just take a second to really let that sit in... really? You’re suppose to be a general of whatever department/office you are from and you mention an orgy?
finally, the most obvious, telling me to call back clearly knowing that this a blocked number
The more times I listen to it, the more I laugh at how at first listen, it almost sounds serious, when all you can focus on is the fact that someone is calling to report your bad driving. But upon listening to it multiple times, you hear that first sounding serious message slowly crumble into a terrible prank call. Clearly the lesson here is to never answer your phone to a blocked caller, block all restricted numbers, and if they leave a voice mail, listen closely and really listen to what the message is saying.
Let me know your funniest prank call.
