I feel like bangel shippers attacking spuffy girlies r missing the age gap point.... it's not that either of them being like y'know 100+ to 200+ years older than her is the issue. whatever, right? show about vampires with a vamp love interest we all knew what we were signing up for. the issue is the fact that angel went after buffy when she was SIXTEEN!!!! and spike. didn't! and it's not like he was waiting for her, he just wasn't interested in that way. by the time spike fell in love with her buffy was still young, but we're talking twenty, twenty-one. adult to adult!

i think also the angel/buffy dynamic really hones in on the age gap. angel got to know buffy, who was pretty naive and inexperienced at the time, with impression that he was somehow entitled to her. whereas spike started to like her *after* getting to actually know her, and their dynamic feels way more like 2 adults, not just because they actually were both adults, but because they were on a much more equal playing field

Mash to me is just everyone laughing and having a good time and then pan to Alan Alda as himself direct to camera going “at the end of the day it’s not funny war destroys lives”

peep show & intimacy is so fascinating bc we are Right There in Their Heads, and in that way our relationship with mark and jez is almost overly intimate, BUT because of their thoughts often talking over other people, and because of how the pov shots work, we lack that intimacy with anyone else in the peep show world and everything feels distant and awkward while also feeling far too close. they are looking Right in your eyes but your eyes are a camera lens
