my apolitical border patrol game's "craniometric measurement" minigame you HAVE to do to figure out if someone is a terrorist demon is garnering a lot of criticisms already answered by the "apolitical border patrol game" part and i really feel like theyre focusing too much on the craniometric measuring minigame and not all the time i spent coding the minigame where your commanding officer gives you a "foot-job" (cause this is a freaky game!) and asks you to put your genetically pure babies in her for the glory of the state. i didnt even use ai im ANTI AI i hired an artist why is everyone made at me???? did you want it to be more solarpunk????

They never actually did it on people in real-life, and I can't seem to find what happened to the rats they did it to. I think what this redditor is referring to is Larry Niven's book Known Space where people actually did do it all the time and it led to an entire evolutionary shift where all the people who were wireheads died out and only the people who could resist them were left.

There's so many horror games about having to try to weed out and deal with inhuman imposters, but I want one where the script is flipped. You are something inhuman, you are an imposter, and if you want to survive you have to blend into a world that is trying to hunt you down and destroy you. You aren't human, but you must masquerade as one and infiltrate their world, or you will die.

I've been thinking about an idea where you're a burn victim or something in a world like That's Not My Neighbor, and you need to get the picture on your ID changed because otherwise your apartment manager or store clerk or whatever is just going to pop you as soon as they see your face doesn't match your ID, that is, if they don't kill you on sight first. Your appointment is in a week. In the meantime you got to go back and forth between work and home and get groceries. You'd have to time your arrivals to make sure people who know you personally/knew that your face got burned are on shift wherever your going, or find some way to get strangers to ask questions before they shoot. Meanwhile you have a doppelganger who looks more "normal" than you do because it copied your face before your accident and its going around trying to get you killed so it can replace you completely. Like, it knows your going to the grocery store so it tries to get there first so that you'll be the second version of yourself to walk in and the people there will be more suspicious of you. It might also try to kill people who know about your accident so that the only ones left are strangers who trust the "normal" looking one more. It'd be a race to try and outmaneuver it and survive till the photo appointment, at which point it would either be that you get your picture retaken and you're slightly safer now, or the doppelganger manages to get there first and have its photo taken so its face is on the official ID, and you're doomed. Or maybe a third ending where you meet some other doppelgangers and they think you're just another one of them who doesn't pass. They either kill the actual doppelganger thinking it's the original and help you "replace" them, or you start living with them in their little cave because at least they don't try to card you.
