I was out for a walk and saw something come out of the woods on the side of the road. It was… vaguely dog-like, about the size of a smaller great dane, shaped like a weird skinny flesh-colored doberman. I, of course, looked at this creature and thought, “What an interesting animal! Cade wants a dog, this will probably be close enough!”

It looked like this.

Needless to say, when I brought it home, everyone hated it. Cade was upset because it wasn’t a dog and was afraid it would eat the cats and all my other roommates were just afraid of it. Especially because it had the ability to walk on its hind legs, lumbering around and using its unsettlingly long floppy arms to touch people’s faces. It was very curious and friendly. Unlike a dog, it couldn’t stick its tongue out because of its curved jaw so instead it would flare its lips and rub its teeth and gums against your face to show affection. I loved my weird dog.

After a couple days, Cade had to take our cat to the vet and I figured I’d tag along because it’d be prudent to figure out if Geba (whose name kept unsettlingly changing throughout the dream like a true cryptid) had any health problems. The vet building looked like a hospital but painted all dark instead of the usual white, which was weird and unnerving, but that’s beside the point. Cade took the cat into the cat room (there were different rooms for different animals for some reason) and I wandered around for a while with Arna before realizing that I had no idea what this thing was and thus no idea where to go, so I went back to the cat room.

I asked the terrified receptionist where I should take my animal, to which she responded, “Uh… hang on…” and went into the back. Sita wanted to play with the cats, whose owners understandably objected, but eventually they relented. Zoka had a lot of fun scaring all the cats and eventually the receptionist came back and told me that they have no idea what that is but it kinda looks like a dog so go to the dog room. 

I took Kiya and wandered around the hospital having a lovely time, eventually finding the dog room. When I opened the door, the receptionist looked at me, his eyes went all wide and he opened his mouth to scream… and then the dream abruptly ended.
