Crawly, what's your favorite food?
Chocolate bunniesssss.
Character transfer - new blog name.
Since most - if not all -Â characters Crawly interacts with are gone from the Hellstream, I am retiring him here and transferring the name to a new blog. (Sorry Micky-mun! ) This blog will stay open as a full sockpuppet ask blog (and to preserve the old threads) and be updated occassionally. I harbour no grudges, but feel like it's for the best like this.Feel free to send me asks with your hellstream accounts, Crawly-the-sock will answer! <3
Royal Morph of the Week
This weekâs (25/03 - 01/04) Royal Morph of the week, as chosen by skyeswonder, goes to the Panda Pied.
This designer morph is produced by pairing a Super Black Pastel to a Piebald, to create this beautiful black and white snake. It was first produced in 2008 by Outback Reptiles. It is also known as a Super Black Pastel Pied, but I think Panda Pied sounds a tad more cuter!

âMost of them here. Theyâre very amusing when you donât take them seriously.â Crawly admitted, closing the book for now. âTheyâre not exctly high literature though. Thereâs books on any topic on earth, out there, though. This is just the stuff I sometimes read when I canât sleep at night.â
âWots classed as high lite..ure.â he paused stumbling over the word, struggling to get its pronunciation right. Perhaps it wasnât surprising that Dimitri was illiterate he hardly seemed to have other interests outside swords, fighting and food though that did not mean by default he was stupid. He was fast learner when it came to hand on hand fighting but seemed to struggle with the rest.
âBooks that are well-written? That contain a deeper meaning?â Crawly shrugged. âTo be honest, the rules for that are pretty arbitrary. This?â He gestured to the shelf. âVery much not high literature. Those are trashy romance.â
âWhy wuld it need a greater meaninâ, ainâ thaâ orginal meaninâ thaâ same thinâ?â said Dimitri, not understanding what Crawly was trying to say. He wrapped the covers tighter around himself for warmth. âDo yer âave anythinâ ta eat?â He added, remembering the last time he had eaten was when Crawly had found him in St. James park.
His stomach rumbled audibly.
Crawly snickered. "Humans just think like that." He got off the bed, careful not to pull the blankets away from Dim. "Nothing ready, but I could cook something simple." he offerend. He still had a few usable ingrediens laying around the fridge.
âYou guys can be friends with angels? Youâre allowed anâ stuff?âÂ
âHaha, no. It was all very hush-hush and under the table.â Crawly waved his hands to convey how hush-hush it had been. âBut since Iâm not actually in active service right now, itâs fine, I guess.â
âOh. Thatâs sweet then! Haha.â Mickey shrugged, looking around. âI wish I had more friends, honest.â
Crawly patted his shoulder with only a hint of awkwardness. "Don't worry, I'm sure we'll become great friends, and you'll like Owl, too." he tried to reassure Micky. "How come you have few human friends, though?" he asked after a short pause.
âHow does anyone survive without computer skills in this day anâ age?â Micky asked, musing half to himself and half to Crawly. âWhoâs the Owl anyway? Is he cool âsides the computer thing?â
âHe has an old electric typewriter thing, for his taxes, I think.â Crawly grinned. âOwlâs kind of my best angel buddy from way back. Biblical times. And heâs a nice guy. Brews a mean earl grey.â

Picking the next best novel from the shelf, Crawly settled next to him again, legs folded under himself, the book resting on his knee. Hopefully this would provide Dim at least with some entertainment. So he read.
ââŚIn her wildest dreams, she had never imagined that eight years out of college, on her sisterâs wedding night, a giant of a man with sun-lit hair and tropical-blue eyes and the face of a movie star was giving her looks that made her think that he found her attractive and sexy. She was frightened by what she was reading in his eyes, fearing that she might be misinterpreting the frank sexual interest in them as they moved over her body and the intent hunger he did not bother to hide when he stared at her face, letting her know that he was patiently biding his time to pounce and devour herâŚâ
Dimitri looked repulsed as Crawly had gotten to the last line. âWot.. is âe gunna eat her? I thought you said it woz romance?â He stated with a tone of disgust and wondered if all books were like that. Dimitri didnât mind horror but if it was going the way he thought it was going then heâd rather not lose his lunch.
ââre tellinâ me thaâ cuz he âloves âerâ thaâ âes gunna jusâ eat âe?â
Crawly snorted. Dimâs accent got worse when he was baffled, how cute. âI think itâs meant in a sexual way. Not actual cannibalism. Lips ân tongue, not teeth.â He stretched a leg slowly to toe at Dimâs side. âHumans donât always have perfect grasp of their respective languages.â
He looked a tad uncomfortable with the sudden toe in his side and squirmed slightly. A frown replaced the look of discomfort, it seemed he was slowly coming out of his shell again or at least to Crawly. âIs all books like thaâ?â Dimitri had barely read any books and if this was what they brought to the table he was less impressed. âDonâ yer âave any otha books?âÂ

Crawly snorted inelegantly. âIâm sure Iâll find something appropriately stretchy. He tore off a last strip of tape and fixed it to Dimâs back. âThere, all wrapped up!â He went to get Dim a pair of boxer shorts that were merely dark purple, without any pattern, which he threw into Dimâs lap. âHop back in if you want your bed time story.â
âAppropriately stretchyâ didnât seem to  comfort him at all if anything it made his belief more dubious that  Crawly had anything in his size. He would have offered the small house key but he couldnât really recall what had happened to it. Perhaps Lucifer had confiscated it? It seemed unlikely but it was all Dimitri could come up for a plausible event even though it didnât seem very plausible in the first place.
Slipping the boxers on and adjusting them afterwards, he crawled into to the warm covers drinking up the newly washed sheet smell.
It felt homely.
The quilt was pulled up to his chest, slipping slightly as he rested his back against the bedhead. For the first time in his life, he waited with some patience for Crawly to get to the book.

Micky winced at the crack. âDonât that hurt? Anâ that sounds pretty cool actually. Iâd like tâ meet another one, yâknow?âÂ
âNah, itâs ok.â Crawly rotated his head again, more freely this time. âJust a bit stiff there. Havenât gotten many neck- or headrubs lately.â he informed Micky cheerfully. âWe can hop over to visit later, if you like. Heâs got a bookstore. Completely computer illiterate, too.â Crawly, at least, knew how to USE one.

Micky chuckled. âLED doesnât exactly tan. You guy come in all shapes and sizes and species anâ types then, huh? Demons, I mean. Are angels that way too? I havenât ever met an angel.â
âYeah, I guess so.â Crawly conceded. He rolled his neck until it cracked audibly, thinking. âCould introduce you to the Owl. Heâs pretty ok, for an angel. Wonât rat you out either.â He smirked a little at his own pun.

âRead it.â He demanded, the old fire that was lost had returned momentarily. Quality or not, he had never really gotten the experience of hearing someone reading. Usually it would roll calls or reading of speeches that dragged on until he was too bored to listen. Dimitri didnât understand why it mattered so much but it did.His gaze diverted to the bathrobe. The demon couldnât wear that thing now as it soiled. âDo you âave any othaâ clothes?â He asked, a more quieter tone this time.
âI will after weâve taken care of your back, ok?â Crawly promised, though his face scrunched up in confusion. He could not fathom why Dim would have liked to have bad romance novels read to him, but he didnât mind actuall doing it.
âI think I have a sweater thatâd fit youâŚâ Crawly trailed off into thoughtful silence, his hands putting ointment on and dressing Dimâs wounds on autopilot. Leaving Dimâs possible reactions to having to actually wear Crawlyâs colourful wardrobe, the other demon was a bit more muscular. Finding trousers that fit would be an adventure.
It wasnât the romance plot that interested him, it was the experience one that he wasnât sure why he even cared about in the first place but there was something satisfying with the concept of being read to.
Dimitri looked a tad concerned when Crawly brought up the mention of wearing his clothes. From his perspective, they would be all too small for his muscular frame.
â âre yer sure theyâre gonna fit?â he asked not looking convinced.
Crawly snorted inelegantly. âIâm sure Iâll find something appropriately stretchy. Micky laughed a bit, yawning in the sun as they walked. âI like the sun when I donât have work to be doinâ, yâknow? Screens are harder to read in the sun, so I usually get mosta my light from the glow of a computer screen. You know⌠you sound kinda cold blooded. Are you like some sorta cold blooded demon or somethinâ? Is that possible?â
âIâm a snake. So yeah, I like warm things and sunshine. Usually nap right through winter.â Crawly told him. He eyed Micky sideways. âYou are a little pale. Have not gotten much sun lately, have you?â
Micky chuckled. âLED doesnât exactly tan. You guy come in all shapes and sizes and species anâ types then, huh? Demons, I mean. Are angels that way too? I havenât ever met an angel.â

Micky grinned as he did the same with his own, mostly just to fit in with what Crawly was doing. âIâm an indoor man. Give me a bank of humming computers and warm batteries for heat and Iâll be the happiest guy in the world.â
âRunning computers are nice to nap on.â Being technologically undereducated, there was not much more Crawly could say to that. âIâm tolerably fond of the outdoors when itâs warm and sunny, though. Nothing better than a sun bath on a roof.â

He nodded, eyes losing the fear that had ensnared them, drowning in his haggard face. Â He scratched the rough whiskers of his chin before sitting up, choosing to stay in an uncomfortable silence. Â His eyes wandered to the bookshelf. Dimitri could barely make out the words, they all seemed to be in a foreign language to him. It was no surprise that this was because he as illiterate as well as ignorant. The army experience in Heaven hadnât been exactly literature based. The few attempts that he had tried, he had quickly given up. Literature, he decided was the poor mans folly thoughts, though he could not help but be intrigued to what those books that sat on Crawlyâs self were about. Â
Seeing Dim was back to reality, Crawly breathed out a sigh of relief, then put his book back on the nightstand from where it had tumbled between the sheets. Might as well take a look at Dimâs wounds, now that the other demon had slept a while. Even if it had not been a very restful sleep. He was still much too pale for Crawlyâs peace of mind.
Banishing the soiled sheets and replacing them with a thought, Crawly walked around the bed to stand before Dim. âWe better do something about your injuries. Iâm not a healer, but I think I still have some ointments and bandages in the cupboard.â
âRead it.â He demanded, the old fire that was lost had returned momentarily. Quality or not, he had never really gotten the experience of hearing someone reading.
