How To Grab His Attention: A Guide Made By a Bored Amateur (Arcana Twilight)
Reader: Gender neutral, bored, wants attention, established relationships with the characters (individually for each story)
Character: Spica, Alpheratz, Arcturus
Today was a busy day. Everyone had something that needed to get done, except for you. You had decided to be responsible and study. That was not a long lasting solution. You could only stay still in your room, at your desk, and reading study material for only so long. You become restless, unable to stay there any longer.
What was a good solution to boredom? Finding your boyfriend and "bothering" him. You knew the three most likely places he could be. First, the courtyard. That's where you last saw Spica, so it didn't hurt to check.
If you were to be honest, you didn't know what you expected. Obviously he wasn't here. It had been hours and if what had took his attention out here was bad enough that he was still out here dealing with it, you would have heard about it. That means the next place to look, the library.
Spica had mentioned wanting to study a bit more, but bringing all the books he wanted to check out back to his dorm would clutter his desk. The reasonable conclusion would be that he would read them at the library. You looked around for a while, but saw no sign of him there. That leaves you the last reasonable place for him to be at this time of day, unless he got dragged to fix another problem, then he could be quite literally anywhere, was the committee room.
You slowly open the door and peek inside. You saw the blonde hunched over a pile of papers and a half empty cup of coffee pushed to the side.
He seemed busy... maybe you should leave him alone and find a diffrent way to entertain yourself? Who are you kidding, of course not! You want to be around him! Now it's time to find a plan to get his attention without annoying him!
You decided that maybe he would give you attention if you helped him somehow. You had no way of helping him with the paperwork, so the mext best option would be to top off his coffee!
After you filled the coffee pot with fresh coffee, you took it over to where Spica sat. Before you even opened your mouth he told you, "No thank you. I'd like to finish what I have first," without even looking up.
You looked at the half empty cup which was most definitely stone clod by now, and the entire time you'd been there so far, he'd maybe taken one sip. There was no way he was finishing that cup anytime soon.
Maybe that wasn't the right move, but there were plenty of ways to get Spica's attention. You could still help him! Maybe getting him to relax would be a better plan. A shoulder rub! His must be stiff from sitting like that for who knows how long.
You moved to be right behind him. As you raised your hands you saw him pause for a second. Was it already working?
"Summoner, you are blocking my light, would you mind moving?" He asked.
Ah. Of course. It couldn't be that easy. No worries, you could still do this plan. You just needed to crouch out of his light. It might be a little uncomfortable for you, but at least it'd work for him.
You crouched down and layed your hands on his shoulders. As you were about to start, he spoke up again, this time with a sigh, "You are restricting my movements. Would you mind letting go?"
You let go of him. Anoth failure. That's no big deal.
Maybe a more direct approach would be the best option. It was rude of you to assume he would understand your intentions with such subtle gestures!
"Hey, Spica-" you started.
"I'm sorry summoner, but unless it's important I am busy.
Alright, that was an immediate fail. You didn't even get the chance to get the words out.
Feeling a bit disheartened by this point you had one last plan before you would give up. A request for help! Studying is important, and if you were to ask for his help, of course he would come to your aid... right?
After going to your dorm, you came back with a textbook and some school work. You place them on the table while looking at Spica. You gathered your courage to speak before asking, "Can you help me with my work? I'm having a little trouble understanding chapter five."
This time he did glance up, but only to see the book, before looking back down at his papers again. "Like I said earlier, I am busy. There is a study group that meet in the library at around six. I'm sure they'd be more than willing to help you," he stated.
That was it. That was all you had left. There was nothing left for yu to do that wouldn't end up annoying him. You were out of ideas.
You sat down in one of the chairs, defeated. You couldn't win this battle. You had lost.
After processing your defeat, you decided that merely watching him was good enough for you. At least you'd be in his presence, right?
A few minutes pass as you watch him. Yes, you wanted his attention, but you could settle for watching his green eyes dart across the pages, before scribbling something near the bottom of them.
He reached for his coffee, only to bump into your hand that rested on the table. His hamd stiled for a moment before you noticed a small smile form on his face. Then, he did something unexpected and slipped his hand under yours.
You were surprised by the unexpected action, but at the same time appreciative of it. Maybe he did notice and was trying to show you that he wasn't trying to ignore you- those thoughts came to a holt as he lifted your hand to place a soft kiss to your knuckles.
A heat bloomed across your face and your heart started to beat erratically. That was certainly unexpected. Not to mention how he hadn't let go of your hand afterwards.
Simply staying with him got you the attention you craved.
Alpheratz had disappeared on you. You hadn't a clue whether he was specifically hiding from you or if he was just hiding from everyone. It would be a surprise if he was hiding specifically from you, but you still tried to think of a reason he would have to be upest or to be avoiding you.
While you were pondering, you wondered off into a part of the school you hadn't explored much yet. It's not that you didn't want to, you just hadn't had the time between classes, studying, and... well... everything else.
You had to admit it was quite calming here. It was quieter and a little overgrown with plants, but that definitely added to the charm.
Soon you spot a familiar tuft of hair sticking out from under a tree that stood behind a bush. You pushed past it to see Alpheratz laying against the trunk of the tree, taking a nap.
You weren't even a little shocked. You've seen similar scenes like this before. If it hadn't been so annoying to try and find him, you'd almost find the scene endearing.
You walked closer and crouched down next to him. As you watch him, the annoyed staring became closer to admiring. It was kind of nice in its own way, but it couldn't last forever. The two of you had plans and you refused to let him back out of it just because he was taking a nap.
You started off by gently poking his cheek. Nothing happened. Not even a slight shift. You glared at him. It could be possible that he was just that deep into sleep, but you doubted it. He probably was just hoping you'd leave if he ignored you long enough.
Since that didn't work and he was likely ignoring you, you decided to be a little more forceful this time and started to shake his shoulder.
"Come on. Get up. We don't have all day for this," you scolded.
He still didn't budge. Why was he so determined? You sighed and sat on the grass. While thinking of another plan of action you continued to glare at him.
This time you got up and grabbed one of his arms. You felt a twitch and realized your hunch was correct, he was awake and ignoring you. You tried to pull him, but didn't get very far... like at all, before giving up.
A pout formed on your face. Time for the last resort. Guilt tripping. It wasn't your favorite, but you also didn't favor being completely ignored like this.
"Why do you ignore me?" You sighed, "All I wanted was to hang out with my boyfriend."
You waited a few seconds, but still nothing. You sighed and tried to get up, before you saw the smirk that had formed on the man's face as he pulled you down to lay on the grass next to him.
You let out a yelp of surprise as you fell. He wrapped his arms around you and rested his chin on top of your head. You tried to wiggle out of his grip, but to no avail.
"Calm down. Isn't this what you wanted?" He mumbled.
"What I wanted was to go on the date we planned days ago," you answered, frustrated.
"We got plenty of time. We wont be late."
You huffed but stopped trying to fight it. He was right. A few minutes wouldn't hurt. Not to mention, this was actually nice.
Arcturus loved to be helpful. That was just who he was, and one of the many reasons you loved him. Though, sometimes that does tend to lead to weeks like these.
Arcturus was running around helping other students, whether that be with studying or with breaking up fights. Sometimes these interpretations would happen while the two of you were mid conversation. He'd glance between the two of you, you'd give him a small nod, then he'd give you an apologetic look before hurrying to help the other student.
After the eighth time this happened this week, you were feeling a bit... attention deprived. You've barley had a proper conversation with him, much less actually spending quality time with him. You decided to take matters into your own hands.
The first attemt wasn't very successful. You had tried to pull him aside, but Spica called him for committee things. You couldn't exactly tell him to ignore it, so you had to.let him take the call.
The second time, you tried to have a study date. It was perfect. You got a few minutes in before a fight broke out a few rooms down from the two of you. He ran off to help before you could object.
Then came to now. You saw him down the hall and hurried over to him.
"Arcky!" You called to him.
When he spotted you the smile on his face grew. He waved to you, but his attention was drawn away by another student who had started asking him questions. Before he could be dragged away you grabbed his sleeve.
"Hey, I need Arcky right now, would you mind if you ask someone else instead? I think I saw Spica down the hall. I'm sure he'd be willing to help," You said to the student, trying to be as polite as possible. It wasn't his fault that you had barely seen Arcturus all week.
The student looked a bit confused but agreed, "Uh... yeah. I guess I can?" While walking away, he glanced over his shoulder a few times before hurrying to find Spica.
"Is everything alright?" Arcturus asked.
"Yeah. I've just been missing you."
"We just saw each other this morning," he chuckled.
"Yeah, but we hadn't spent any time together in a while."
"Oh... I guess we haven't. I'm sorry. I can't believe I didn't realize how little time we have been spending together. I need to make this up to you. I'm so-" you could see he was about to go into a guilt spiral, so you stopped him before it got any worse.
"It's OK Arcky. Calm down. If you really want to make it up to me all I want is to spend time with you. No distractions or disruptions. There are other people who can help their classmates. You don't have to do everything."
He looked away a bit sheepishly when you pointed that out, "I know... it's just..."
"Let me stop you right there. You don't need to explain yourself. Just spend time with me and I'll be happy," you leaned in and kissed hos cheek.
His eyes widened slightly and face flushed. It was an adorable sight to see. You slid your hand into his and started pulling him along.
"There's this café that I heard was good from a few classmates. Let's start there."

A/n: Thank you for reading. I noticed how Arcana Twilight doesn't have as much content as it deserves and I had this idea so... I hope you enjoyed reading this :)
Updated A/N: By the way, sorry for not having the other characters in here. I would have, but I recently realized after replaying the game that the first time I started playing (I lost my progress mid way RIP) a couple years ago, I had completely mischaracterized those three (especially Pollux. My interpretation of him was so off it's kinda funny) and now have to undo all of that before I can write about them, because I don't want to accidentally butcher the personalities of your favorites (I know how much that sucks). I will make a part two for the others someday, hopefully soon, but for now I'm going to leave them alone. I hope you understand.
