This may sound preachy, but if you’re in your teens or 20s please take care to develop the habit of speaking positively about people behind their backs. Gossip is unavoidable, and yes it does allow people to bond, and yes some people deserve to be shit talked. But I think being negative about things is literally just nature, whereas trying to be positive about things and people is a quality you have to be very intentional about . If this does not apply to you, good for you. But for most people I think it does. Im not lauding toxic positivity so much as saying that if there’s space to speak positively about someone behind their back, it’s better to take that route.

okay i've recently rewatched sex ed and i low-key hate otis & maeve now lol (not individually, though i did wanna smack otis a few times in season 4). like i fucking loved them in the first season. second season too but it was less so, but i still wanted them to get together. then he gets with ruby, a relationship i surprisingly liked (otis likes a girl that's bossy and ruby likes a boy who's soft with her but also won't just roll over and do whatever she says), but i still preferred otis & maeve. then at some point in season 3, i think i just gave up and stopped caring. i've never liked that "will they/won't they?" bullshit. in season four, they're finally together (*forced clapping*) but maeve's in america and then otis cheats-but-not-cheats-but-it-still-has-the-same-betrayal-as-cheating on her by literally sleeping with (not fucking!) his ex but then it's all okay and then maeve's gonna move back to england but then she actually goes back to america so they either have a "wait for me" thing or do long-distance (i do not remember; i did not re-watch all of the finale lol). anyway. the point is their asses took so long to get together that i stopped fucking caring and otis actually moved on to better relationships and him and ruby (or fuck, just him being single!) should've been the endgame 🤷🏾‍♀️ i think he and ola might've been a better pairing because there's just so much less drama with them and yes, i understand it's a tv show and yes, i know real couples go through dramas and troubles and shit but to be honest, if i had friends like otis and maeve, i'd get sick of their bullshit pretty quick too.

I was fully on board with Otis and Maeve being endgame until I saw Otis and Ruby together. I don’t care if Otis and Ruby wind up together but they have sooooo much chemistry together that Maeve and Otis doesn’t feel right in comparison.

Idk I really like Ruby and Otis as friends, I wish they could've had something like Viv and Jackson.
