#Repost @scooterbraun ・・・ I’m at a loss for words... a shooting at a synagogue during a new born child’s bris?? I’m lost. But I’m not silenced. Hate exists. I have witnessed it personally... unfortunately in many forms. But it shows its face usually when it is floundering for air. A new world is coming... and those filled with hate will find no place. We cannot and will not be silent. We are at the doorstep of something new and it is our challenge and our responsibility to step forward and demand better. For those in Pittsburgh today suffering... I could not imagine and I send my deepest condolences. All I know is that I do fear for my own children. I fear for them as they proclaim their judaism others in the world will demand their destruction. For my nieces and nephews who because of their skin color will be judged as less than. For my friends who’s heritage or religion will deem them in the eyes of few as “un-American.” But I refuse to live in fear. I will have my moments of weakness... I almost did before writing this. Why put myself out there? Why put those I love in danger? The reason is because we already are. If we do not all start standing together for good then just sign every one of us up as targets. We are our brother and sister’s keeper. All of us. So that congregation today might as well been my own. As well as the schools that face tragedy... or the nightclubs... or any other community. I stand with you. Because if I don’t... who will be left to stand with us when it is our turn? The time is now. Our time is now. Fear will not rule the day. WE WILL STAND UNITED TOGETHER IN THE FACE OF HATE. So to those out there choosing hate...time is up. You have only again united us together. And tomorrow...
